Netflix Updates the search with AI to improve discovery
Netflix is building a new search attempt aimed at improving the discovery attempt, and he will use AI to do so, said company CEO Greg Peters during his first quarter conference.
Peters said Netflix is working on “interactive demand that is based on generative technology” to help people find different titles.
In response to the analyst, Peters said that the most popular company titles that dominate the popular conversation attract 1% of traffic and because of this trend, improving detection and recommendations is important for the company.
“There is more space to improve the discovery and recommendations experience and therefore provide more value for members and therefore finding the largest audience for our titles,” he said.
Earlier this month, Bloomberg Netflix has been testing Openai’s search with selected customers in Australia and New Zealand.
The company that also started testing New homepage design in its TV app This brought a new way to display the titles and descriptions of the show, plans to extend it widely this year.
“This (home page redesign) is something we have not made major structural changes for a decade. We believe that this will significantly improve the experience of finding Netflix. We polish and improve this experience based on the contribution we have received from members who used it,” said Peters.
The company said the first quarter revenue increased by 12.5% to $ 10.54 billion compared to a year earlier.
