NASA’s astronaut clicks knockout views of the colorful moon in full bloom
Spring pops into the northern hemisphere and the full moon of flowers joined the seasonal celebrations on May 12. Skywatchers on the ground were treated with a shiny disc of light. NASA astronaut Nicole Ayers enjoyed the view from a different point of view – the way up the International Space Station.
Ayers shared three images of the moon with full force.
“I’m still in awe of our opinion on the world and beyond it” She told xS “Today was the colorful moon and not disappointed!”
This view from the ISS shows the full moon of flowers in perspective with the Earth.
The first image represents our blue planet, which diverge with clouds. The moon moves in the corner with the dark Maria (Latin for the “seas”) shock pools extending like shadows on its surface. It is a poetic image that emphasizes the close connection between Earth and its only natural satellite.

The next Ayers image tells another story. The moon is a tiny point under the head down, pierced with clouds. Parts of the space station pull out of the bottom of the view.
This shows how the direction does not matter much for the ISS. Earth may be above or below you, depending on your chosen perspective in orbit.

The final shot is an ode to a distance. The moon orbits an average of about 239,000 miles from Earth. Everyone is so far so far in the picture. Our planet is a watery, cloudy hill with a weak full moon, shines like a remote beacon.
Ayers is part of Spacex Crew-10 A mission that arrived at the ISS in March to ease the so -called. Sunita Astronauts Suni Williams and Barry Butch Wilmore. This is Ayers’ first visit to the ISS.
Ayers dedicates some of her efforts to the public astrophotography. Photos of the moon show her artistic eye.
“They were filmed by several different perspective lenses,” she said. “I love how you can see the texture in the clouds and the moon itself.”
The full moon in May is known by the nickname “Color Moon”.
“Many cultures call May’s full moon like the colored moon, thanks to the abundant flowering that happens when spring goes right,” says the royal museums, which Greenwich in An An An Ann ExplanationS “Other names include the moon of the rabbit, the moon for planting corn and the moon’s moon.”
Ayers’ views on the full moon carry the astronaut’s prospect of the celestial show to us on Earth. The beauty is whether you are on the ground or up in orbit.
