An alarming incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district, where a vegetable seller was allegedly caught spitting on vegetables. The video, which went viral on social media, led to the arrest of the seller, police said on Sunday.

Anupshahr police of Bulandshahr district arrested a vegetable seller who is accused of spitting on vegetables. The arrest came soon after a video of the incident went viral on social media, showing the vendor sitting in his stall, discreetly spitting on the product, in an attempt to avoid attracting attention Shamim is a resident of Naya Basti in the area. Shamim runs a small vegetable shop in the local market.

Anupshahr police circle officer Girja Shankar Tripathi gave details of the incident, saying that on December 14, the police saw a video of a vegetable vendor at a wholesale shop in the market allegedly contaminating vegetables by repeatedly spitting on them.

After viewing the video, the police took swift action to register a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the accused, Shamim, who was immediately arrested and sent to jail after completing the necessary legal procedures, the CO confirmed.
