More than 100 civilians were killed as a result of shelling near Khartoum, Sudan
It began last year after the Rapid Support Force (RSF), a paramilitary force led by the military, split over the future direction of the country.
Ombad Emergency Room did not specify who was behind the attack in Omdurman.
Due to the ongoing fighting, volunteers and emergency response teams have had problems accessing certain areas.
Most of Omdurman is under military control, while the RSF holds the capital and parts of the greater Khartoum area.
Over the past few weeks, the army has stepped up its offensive in Omdurman in a bid to regain control. It is reported that the army captured 3 areas and confiscated the remaining weapons from the paramilitary forces.
RSF fighters retreat from positions in two neighborhoods. Residents living on both banks of the Nile said that they were firing across the river, and that bombs and shrapnel regularly hit houses and civilians.
The Ombad Emergency Response Room said that the area was devastated as a result of protracted fighting in which residents were hit by bullets and shrapnel that hit their houses.
Both sides are accused of targeting civilians, including health workers, and indiscriminate shelling of residential areas.
The recent shootings have forced several health centers to close, affecting emergency rooms that support local communities during the ongoing conflict, affecting medical care for thousands of residents.
