Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah again prompted questions about his uncertain future at the club after another two-goal performance in Saturday’s 6-2 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur.

Salah also assisted twice in north London, restoring Liverpool’s firm grip at the top of the Premier League table after back-to-back recent draws, to take his tally for the season to 33 in 24 appearances in all competitions.

But the 32-year-old is still on track to become a free agent at the end of the season, as it stands, and is just days away from being able to formally negotiate with clubs overseas.

Salah has previously thrown Liverpool under the bus when speaking to the media about the situation, claiming to be “more out than in” as recently as last month when there was no offer on the table. The player too suggested he thought it was his “last game” against Manchester City at Anfield when the rivals met to beat Liverpool in early December.

A week later, It was reported that Salah received an initial offer.

But things don’t seem to have progressed any further in the two weeks since, or at least Salah is keeping his cards closer to his chest in public now. He simply replied, “No, no,” when asked up front Sky Sports cameras if there was a new update of the saga.

Against Tottenham, Salah became the first player in the history of the Premier League to reach double figures in both goals and assists before Christmas in a given season. He also moved past Billy Liddell on the club’s all-time top scorers list, jumping into fourth place with 229 to his name.

1980s legend Ian Rush is still well in the lead on 346, but Salah could catch third-placed Gordon Hodgson (241) before the end of this season, and also has a good chance of catching Roger Hunt ( 285). as long as you sign a new contract.

If Salah has to leave Liverpool in 2025, all signs point to a rich club able to pay huge wages in Egypt and a signing bonus. Paris Saint-Germain or a team from the Saudi Pro League would be the most plausible options in this regard. Barcelona have also been opportunistically linked, although current financial constraints could quickly halt any approach.
