Mickey 17 – the best argument for directors receiving the final reduction

In an interview with Magazine EmpireDirector Bong explained that “Mickey 17” was really his last cuts and that Warner Bros. never tried to pick it up from him. “The studio respected my final rights,” he said, but also said they were ready to provide contributions as employees, not controllers. “Of course, there are many opinions and a lot of discussions that are happening during the editing process,” he continued. “But this movie is my incision, and I am very pleased. It was a long process, but it was always smooth and respectful.”

When the director Bong first started writing “Mickey 17”, it was under the US Presidential Administration Joe Biden. I do not imagine that he could predict that we would live again under the Trump administration when he wrote a character, because the marshal is very represented as anyone, that the rest of the world has moved, and now they are able to look back and laugh because it is no longer a formidable threat.

Unfortunately This is not the world in which we liveAnd, presenting Marshal as an avatar of Trump, “Nikolai 17” ceases to feel the work of speculative fiction and becomes a warning that we are not carefully. If the director Bong was not provided with the final reduction, I do not imagine that the studio was bold enough to see the election results, and yet allowed the movie to go out as is. Recently Disney got under fire after Cutting the storyline of transgenders from the Pixar series “Win or lose”, What they obviously were okay when they gave green light, but clearly got cold feet, including as a result of Trump re -election.

I admit that when I saw in the theaters “Mickey 17”, I thought several times – not because it is a tear movie or anything, but because I didn’t understand how bad I needed someone (in this case, director Bong) to put something into the world that mostly says: “Hey, you are not crazy Imagination. ” I hope Warner Bros. He knows how important this movie is for our present period of time, and I hope other studios take note and stop strangling the creative voices of the people they hire and trust them to do their job. The world is better for this.

I told about the movie in today’s episode ‘Daily Podcast Movie

“Mickey 17” is now in cinemas.
