Michael Cohen asked for Biden’s presidential pardon: “I am also someone’s son”
Trump’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen is asking President Biden to pardon him pardoned his son Hunter before President-elect Donald Trump took office.
Cohen discussed his efforts to reach out to the Biden administration for a pardon on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” Saturday morning. He argued that unless he is pardoned by the president, he will continue to be “at risk” of being prosecuted by Trump.
Cohen argued that Biden had an obligation to protect him and other critics from Trump, just as he protected his son Hunter.

“Yes, I applied for a presidential pardon because I believe Joe Biden has the same responsibility to me as he has to his son,” Cohen said. “And I would expect that the same amnesty that he gave to his son should go to me and everyone else on the enemies list, whether they like it or not, because I assure you, the solitary confinement I spent 51 days in is bad.”

MSNBC host Symone Sanders agreed with Cohen’s concern that Trump is on the “enemies list,” but disagreed with calling out Hunter Biden for his case.
“I mean, Hunter Biden is the last surviving son of the president,” Sanders said.
“I’m somebody’s son, too, by the way,” Cohen replied.
“Agreed. You’re somebody’s son,” Sanders said. “But I want to say, just to be very clear, you’re not the president’s son. And he pardoned Hunter because that’s his son, I think.”
Cohen emphasized how important it is to take Trump seriously as a threat.

“When Donald Trump comes back, you have to take him at his word,” Cohen said. “Everything He’s ever said He’s going to do, He’s going to do. And He’s doing it one by one. Now, everything may not be on the first day, as He said, but in the end He’s going to fill government positions now to help Him accomplish His purposes. it will be four years plus with the group person.”
Cohen spent three years in prison for federal crimes Tax evasion, campaign finance violations and lying to Congress while working for Trump. He has since become an outspoken critic of the president-elect and testified against Trump in the New York criminal trial of Alvin Bragg earlier this year.
Cohen also said in September that he had plans to leave the country If Trump were re-elected.

“I’m already working on a foreign passport with a completely different name. I don’t know how it’s going to work with my wife and kids. I certainly don’t want them to move to where I am. I’m trying to go,” Cohen said.

In December, Biden was attacked from both sides despite his son Hunter’s insistence that he would not issue a pardon. A few weeks into his term, Biden said he still has considering pardons beforehand for some of Trump’s political enemies, such as former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
