The 60-year-old actress added that she feels a lot of pressure to “not age” and “stay a size 2 or 4” while working in the industry.
She went on to explain how things changed for the better once she moved across the US to Manhattan. “I went from, ‘Oh my God, I better not get old!’ ” To ‘God, I’m so glad I’m older!'” she said. “I love the age I am now. Sixties was the most incredible year, just to look back at all the things I’ve done and know that I I’ve earned my opinion, I have value, I’m wise.”
It turns out Gilbert has moved on from Hollywood in more ways than one—her next project is a game beyond the beard Quietin which she stars opposite Crazy men Mark Moses. Despite leaving Hollywood in hindsight and moving across the country, Gilbert said she still has a lot of love for Los Angeles, something that came into sharper focus this month in the wake of the devastating fires.
“I didn’t realize the depth of love I have for my hometown until the wildfires,” she explained. “The number of people I know who have lost everything are not movie stars and TV stars.”
