“I had the pleasure of meeting @meghan for a meal and let me tell you, she and her well-known significant other are some of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met,” the chef said. Adrian Lipscomb wrote through Instagram on Monday, January 6. “We talked about our families (mostly our princess-phase daughters and the movies they like) and of course food.”
Markle and Prince Harry share 5-year-old Prince Archie and 3-year-old Princess Lilibeth. It is not yet clear whether the royal couple’s children will be featured in the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix show, titled Love, Megan.
Recalling her conversations with Markle, Lipscomb remembered Markle as a mom who was both sweet and caring.
“She didn’t rush the conversation, even though I was taking her time,” she shared. “(Markle) was sweet, interested and kind.”
Lipscomb felt compelled to speak out after seeing a negative article about Markle’s upcoming TV show based on a preview.
On January 2, Netflix released the first trailer with Love, Megan. The nearly two-minute clip offered a glimpse into Markle’s life in California — including a sweet moment with her husband.
According to Netflix’s official press release, the show is “reimagining the genre of lifestyle programming” with Markle at the forefront, “mixing hands-on instruction with candid conversation with friends.”

“How are you going to criticize someone or judge a TV show before it’s even aired?” she said. “And let’s talk about the bigger picture — where are black female shows and roles in the food world? There’s so little representation, and now a show that could focus on food, culture and storytelling is being torn apart before it has a chance. It’s not just about Meghan Markle. This is about a systemic problem in media and entertainment that continues to dismiss or denigrate the efforts of women, especially women of color, to create something meaningful.”
After returning to Instagram on beginning of 2025Looks like Markle ignored the critics and instead expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work on a personal project.
“I was so excited to share this with you!” she wrote via app on January 3. “I hope you enjoy the show as much as I enjoyed creating it. We wish everyone a wonderful new year! Thanks to our amazing team and the @netflix team. More than grateful for the support — and fun!”
