Mechabellum gets a second chance as Dreamhaven resumes mech autobattler
Dreamhaven Announced a partnership with Game Studio Game River to publish the competitive car combat, Mechabellum.
The game for science fiction mech has realistic graphics where you give marching orders to your forces and then they execute your commands in auto combat. It looks like a strategic game in real time, but you can pause to think after every turn, said Mike Morheim, CEO of Dreamhaven in an interview with Gamesbeat.
To mark the partnership, Dreamhaven and Game River today launched the Mechabellum Premium Edition, offering commanders over 18 exclusive skins, unique avatars and special emoticons. It happens that the Game River title was an undiscovered gem and Dreamhaven gives it a second chance. The trailer looks pretty great, but I’m very intrigued how the strategy will play.
You can buy the standard Mechabellum edition now for $ 15 or Mechabellum Premium
Edition for $ 30 per Steam. New players can check Mechabellum during The Steam Free To Play Weekend, April 4 to April 8, 2025.
The news was discovered during the Dreamhaven showcase presented by the Game Awards.
Second chance

Mike Morheim said Mechabellum is a game based on one against one multiplayer. Players make a choice of how to spend their resources and put their units on the battlefield. After you do this, you can see the results of the battle. Then a new circle of battles begins and players again stopped in a continuing turn -based battle.
Mike Morheim said, “Many people have fallen in love with this game because it captures the whole strategic depth of things we love in the real -time strategy without the requirement for action of a minute (APM),” he said.
This means that you do not need to be a masterful junior with great dexterity to play the game in real time.
Amy Morheim, a co -founder of Dreamhaven, said the team found the game in early access after Starcraft members turned to them. He had only one review, but he was 90 out of 100. The creator of Mechabellum, Game River in China, was in another publishing deal, but then got out of it and Dreamhaven agreed to rewrite the game with more fanfare behind him.
“We love to watch professionals who play these RTS games because there is a strategic side of those games that we never see, because we always fight the micro, the tactical side of the game,” said Mike Morheim.
It is intended for everyone, but the older players like me may have a chance, as fighting is not all about how many units you can control at once in a minute.
More details

Inspired by classic real -time strategic games, Mechabellum asked players with a mech army command to beat tens of thousands of real players around the world. Choose from an extensive array of ready -to -battle taverns equipped with different capabilities and tactical advantages. Customize units, position them strategically and work to predict – or counter – the enemy moves. Success depends on outwater or outpouring the opposition.
“With the support of Dreamhaven, we are focused on refining the Mechabellum content map for 2025 and after. Our commanders can expect the addition of new units, start -ups, technology upgrades, and many more in the coming months,” says Ven South. “We look forward to a bright future in partnership with Dreamhaven.”
“Game River has created one of the richest tactics and strategically deep auto battles on the Mechabellum market,” says Mike Morheme. “I am a proud, avid player. This is one of the best games developed in the last decade, and we believe that people will play even a decade from now.”
Characteristics of mechabellum

● Strategic depth: decision making and tactical gameplay are at the heart of any battle. Focus on the positioning of a unit, counters, army composition and fighting as an without micro-control team. Deployment, adaptation, overcoming.
● Build the perfect army: from agile crawling to the imposition of giant fortresses, each mech serves as a specific purpose on the battlefield. Learn the strengths and weaknesses of a large number of unique units. Personalize them and their abilities before and during battles to maximize destructive power.
● Endless capabilities of Battlefield: Enjoy the game in intense 1V1 duels, strategic 2V2 team battles or free mode for everyone where everything goes. Turn a loser battle into a win by calling the perfectly placed air stroke or spreading chaos by calling a horde of bots of crawling in the middle of your enemy’s army. Stop the unit seminar between the matches to improve the army load, access new technologies and develop sophisticated tactics.
● Healthy tournament instruments and replay system: Take control of past battles to look at the right points and explore alternative strategies. Players can improve their skills against the best competitors through tournament ladders and use the innovative overplaying system to study matches.
