Man Utd targeting Ronaldo repeats with £40m star
each one Manchester United The fan will no doubt still be on cloud nine after the comeback win over local rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
In a game of very poor quality on both sides, Amad Diallo popped up in the closing stages, winning the penalty for Bruno Fernandes’ goal, before firing home the winner after a superb touch and finish.
The win over Pep Guardiola’s men was the first at the Etihad since March 2021, ending a run of three consecutive away defeats in the derby, a clash that was Ruben Amorimthe first taste of the device.
It has been a tricky start to life at Old Trafford for the 39-year-old, but victory against the noisy neighbors will surely be a turning point in his time in charge for years to come.
However, they were able to get all three points without one player, who now surely looks set to move away from the club in the upcoming January transfer window.
Man Utd star attracts interest from Saudi Arabia
According to talkSPORT, United are open to allowing him attacking Marcus Rashford to leave his boyhood club in January as Amorim looks to make his own mark on the first-team squad.
That decision has put Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad on red alert for a possible move ahead of the next transfer window.
Any transfer would see the Red Devils pocket a decent sum, valuing English at around £40 million after spending almost a decade in the club’s senior set-up after moving through the academy.
The 27-year-old has made over 400 appearances to date, scoring more than 100 goals and providing the supporter base with numerous memorable moments, including his brace against Arsenal on his Premier League debut in 2016.
However, off-field problems have affected his move to Manchester, as he showed for Sunday’s clash with City, where he was dropped from the traveling squad entirely by the new boss.
Should Rashford leave in the coming weeks, he could follow a similar trend of a player who was also offloaded after numerous problems with the manager at the time, despite his talent on the pitch.
Another Ronaldo situation for Man Utd
Man United have been home to countless talents over the years, making a real impact on the side, before making a huge profit down the road.
Until today, Cristiano Ronaldo remains the Old Trafford away record, joining the Spanish giants for £80m ahead of the 2009/10 season after making 277 appearances in his six years as a Red Devil.
However, he would rejoin the club in the summer of 2021, spending more than a year at the side where he made a name for himself in the professional game following his previous spell in England.
The Portuguese international he would score 27 goals in his second spell, but it would be his feud with the boss Erik has Hag and his off-field problems that would end his time at Old Trafford.
His situation is similar to that of Rashford, with disciplinary problems at the helm, with the Englishman potentially joining his former team-mate in Saudi Arabia following Ronaldo’s move to the Middle East in mid- the 2022/23 campaign.

Only the current star of Al Nassr managed ten league games before his move away from England, with Rashford currently in a similar position, appears in 15 top level games but desperately out of form, he only scored on four occasions.
It’s a shame to see an academy graduate’s time in Manchester crash, but ultimately he hasn’t helped himself with his antics away from the pitch, which could lead to his eventual departure.
His drop in form from 2022/23 when he scored 30 goals in all competitions he has been remarkable, certainly needing a fresh start to start his professional career.
United would do well to receive a fee of around £40m for his signature, which would allow Amorim to move on from a problem player in their squad, while also handing him the funds to recruit players in January.
