Man Arrested for TikTok Threat to Kill Trump
An Indiana man has been arrested after police say he posted several TikToks calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump. The FBI arrested Douglas Trums on January 23, 2025 after he allegedly posted several videos advocating the violent overthrow of the United States. “Every US government building should be bombed immediately,” he said in a video. according to court records.
like first reported by Court WatchTrumps is a 23-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, who did not take well to Trump’s return to the White House. The FBI said Trump began posting a series of videos calling for Trump’s assassination after he was inaugurated on January 20.
The FBI said in one video, Trams holds a rifle in his hands and taps it. “A friendly little reminder (rifle taps) that we have a Second Amendment right. We also have in our Declaration of Independence the right to take control of the government and even possibly create a new one. So I’m asking the question again – when, where, what time, give me coordinates,” he said, according to a transcript of the video in court records.
“While other people will show up, I will show up. I will bring my second amendment right. In fact, I will bring as many Second Amendment rights as I can. But I just need to know when we’re going to do this, where we’re going to do this, how we’re going to do this, um, because it has to be done. It has to be done. This time there is literally no way forward without violence. I’m sorry.”
In the video where he talks about the bombings of government buildings, Trams also discusses the assassination of Trump. “Regarding President Donald Trump, Trams stated that ‘he must be killed and this time don’t miss a damn thing,'” according to the criminal complaint.
In the videos shared by the FBI, Trumps calls for a leader; he did not present himself as a traffic leader. “Tell me where to point the damn gun and we can go hunting for Nazis,” he said, according to court records.
Trams states in the same video: “It is in our Declaration of Independence that if we the people think it good to be controlled by a tyrannical government or simply by evil, that we are lawfully permitted to exercise our rights, laws, amendments and constitutions to take control of said government, possibly even imposing a new one if necessary. So yes, I agree with the cause. Like I said, I decided to paint the town red, but I’m not driving anything. Just tell me where to go.
The FBI charged Trams with “Interstate Communications with Threat of Injury,” a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years.
