Mafia: The Old Country is coming in the summer of 2025
Take-Two Interactive’s 2K label and Hangar 13 studio have taken the wraps off Mafia: The Old Country, the next big installment in the long-running Mafia series.
Last year, Take-Two Interactive only teased the existence of the game, without any information about the game itself. This year, at the Game Awards, Take-Two shared a lot more.
It’s been a long time since Mafia III, set in the 1960s of social upheaval. This game was released in 2016.
Coming in the summer of 2025, this new game is set in Sicily. It starts as a trailer with “All the men in this family are bound by blood.”
The game takes place in 1900. in Sicily. It depicts the brutal criminal underworld of Sicily in the 1900s. Marking the beginning of a new crime saga for the acclaimed Mafia franchise, Mafia: The Old Country is an all-new story set in the Mafia universe, returning to the roots of organized crime with a compelling new cast of characters.
As a linear, narrative game, Mafia: The Old Country is a focused package, perfect for fans who want to immerse themselves in an unknown world of danger and intrigue. The graphically stunning cinematic experience features a story based on the brutal world of organized crime that authentically immerses players in dangerous combat systems featuring high stakes, grounded stealth and gunfight mechanics.
Mafia: The Old Country introduces a new, original protagonist for players to embody. Enzo’s story is set in a time when skill with a stiletto blade was a deadly asset, the lupara rifle was a common firearm, murderous vendettas raged for decades, and mobsters patrolled their protective groups on foot, on horseback or behind back wheel of cars from the turn of the century.
Through courage and determination, Enzo survived his childhood of indentured labor in the hellish sulfur mines of Sicily. Now, due to a twist of fate, he has the opportunity to join Don Torrisi’s crime family and will do whatever it takes to build a better life for himself. Taking an oath, Enzo has committed himself to uphold the Torrisi family’s code of honor with all the power and hardships that entails. He must never forget this simple truth: family sacrifices.

First established in 2002. with the release of the landmark Mafia game, the franchise has sold more than 35 million copies on consoles and PC. Hangar 13 has spent 22 years immersing players in brutal mafia worlds, and now these franchise veterans are focused on Mafia: The Old Country.
