Luxury digital notebook for book worms

I have always been a nasty for a good notebook. Despite my skitting handwriting, I like to make notes, record random lists with tasks and write letters. There is nothing like writing a large yellow legal pad or drawing at the ends of a composition notebook. The remarkable Paper Pro does a great job of imiting this feeling of pen and paper writing with the help of stylus and screen, which can often be felt more recently as using a toy. While an achievement, it comes at a price that I am not sure most people are ready to pay.

Remarkable paper pro

Paper Pro is a magnificent digital notebook that is an absolute pleasure that it writes, but it is also a slowly charging reader that will cost you a hand and a leg.

Paper Pro is a half-step upgrade than a remarkable 2. It is larger (11.8 inches vs 10.3 inches), has a color display and has a reading light that allows you to use it in slightly illuminated environments. Like a remarkable 2, Paper Pro Essential wants you to discard your tablet or phone in favor of something without distracting text messages and upsetting news updates.

Paper Pro is a little more than a remarkable 2, at 5.1 mm and weighs just over a kilo. However, I appreciate the additional real estate because it allows me to fit more on one page. Even with a case, he felt as heavy as he was holding a magazine or a book that I didn’t mind, as he still felt light but not fragile.

The largest upgrade for Paper Pro from the remarkable 2 is the color display that makes comics reading and highlighting texts in PDF files much easier. However, I noticed a slight delay when you try to write in a color other than black. First, it looks black for a moment, then flickens to the selected color, which is a little distracting and emphasizes a common problem with the presentation of Paper Pro.

When it comes to note and writing, I switched to the Ballpoint Pen modes and the mechanical pencils. Each pen style feels different enough to fit most people’s preferred writing styles. I have been using Paper Pro for more than a month by holding it at meetings, making lists of tasks at home and reading a handful of ebooks that I stored in a Google Drive folder. It remains to my side a lot after I finished his review because it’s easy to pick up and start writing.

Organizing your notes is simple and intuitive. You can mark and move text around with the pen, change its size and use comfortable predefined templates. I like a good list, so I often use the checklist template. You can easily edit your text on the go. To make text more or move it around, just press the highlight and walk the words you want to set up. My review of the review came with the Plus marker, which includes a tire head at the end of the stylus, which was further useful as I am inclined to write quickly and make a lot of mistakes.

I like how easy it is to mix manuscript and entered notes (via a virtual keyboard or foil on the keyboard). It gives you fun ways to organize your digital notebooks so that they don’t look like Scribbles written by crazy. If you are reading PDF, it is nice to emphasize passages or write in margins, which makes it great for sharing during a study session.

Remarkable Paper Pro Review: Performance

Writing Paper Pro, like the remarkable 2, is pure joy. The stylus is responsive and the marker plus pen is comfortable. There is really the feeling that you are writing on paper the way the tip of the pen slides as you write, which is a difficult trick to postpone. I never felt as if I had to adjust how I write as I do on other tablets or phones that allow you to write on the stylus screen.

Paper Pro’s ability to convert handwritten notes into a text entered, greatly dependent on your handwriting. Your mileage will vary depending on how tidy you write, but this is a great feature when it works, especially if you are a person to share notes with other people. Exactly transforms about 50% of the text I wrote. For others around the office with a more clear writing, it was about 90%. Obviously the problem was me, not Paper Pro. I’m fine with that.

A useful feature is access and sharing notes from other devices. I can easily view and edit notes that I took on my phone through the remarkable app. I made a list of inventory for a charity event that I helped Paper Pro and then sent PDF to our Discord server. You can also send these files through text, weak, threads and a handful of other applications. The only downside is that you pay $ 3 a month (or $ 30 a year) to use the cloud storage service.

Getting PDF files and EPUB of Paper Pro is still a small headache, which requires you to upload the files through a remarkable app or website. Since I have a pretty big Kindle library, tracking book files I already own is a hoop through which I hated to skip. I understand the simplicity of Paper Pro, but like a remarkable 2, I would like to have a way to access different ebook applications.

Once your books are set up, Paper Pro is a fully medium e -reader. I welcome the adjustable reading light that allows you to read the dark or direct sunlight. The display of the ink gallery is easy for the eyes and during my evening readings I spent at least another 20 minutes reading Paper Pro ebooks than I usually do on my phone.

The problem with Paper Pro is that everything takes too long. Loading a notebook or even flying over pages takes a second or two longer than it should. Although there is a faster processor and doubles the memory of a remarkable 2, all that is beyond writing on the page is slow. The progress to a less demanding processor is that you get a decent battery life. I went nearly two weeks before I had to catch the charger.

A remarkable PAP Pro review: Sentence

As much as I enjoyed my time at Paper Pro, the cost of writing and taking a scattering is high, starting at $ 530 (an additional $ 50 if you want the plus marker that includes the built -in tire). When you start browsing accessories like the $ 230 foil keyboard, the price of the box office is approaching $ 800. If you are like me and have a bad handwriting, the keyboard becomes a nice device to reduce errors when you reduce the number, or just want to go for a digital typewriter vibration. But if so, something like Freewrite Alpha It should be more in your alley. If you want a first tablet and an electronic reader/notebook second, Apple iPad Mini is a great choice. If you want something smaller with ink display E Color E, Amazon Kindle Colorsoft It can be another option.

This is a lot of money, given that you cannot use third -party applications or even browse the network. Paper Pro is not intended to be used as a tablet. Opening different books and notes takes a lot more time than I would like, so I can only imagine how Paper Pro will crawl when you open Bluesky or check your email. Again, it is designed to be a device that will protect you from these applications anyway, so I understand that it is an ecosystem with a fenced.

If you want something more simply that won’t cost you a hand and a leg, Remarkable 2 For $ 330 (pen included), it is probably a better choice as long as you are good that you do not have a color display and a little smaller screen. The price aside, the physical act of writing the remarkable Pap Pro still feels incredible and honestly, I don’t see soon to expose it. Every day I find more and more reasons to sit and write, to put my phone aside and not stare at a laptop screen for hours.
