This thematic lightness and chemistry that encodes the non-Myashes (which eventually turns into something beautiful) seems to be the perfect mix for Rom-Com adaptation that promises a good time. As it turns out, this rather insufficient adaptation of a good book is currently sitting quite high on Netflix streaming charts. This is not surprising because Netflix algorithm is known for pushing dubious names that become unexpected hits over the night, but I retreat. “Hutchings” “The Hating Game” takes number 7 at the moment on the list of 10 best Service Service movies for the current week (via Via Flixpatrol). Contracting game is too brazen (and soft) for your own good

Spoilers For “games in the hated game” follow.

Although the book torn attracts from Agend Rom-Com-Comr, she knows how to keep readers cling to a charming, satisfactory love story. Adaptation of 2021 is unable to nail this complex balanced act and ultimately establishes the prerequisites that feel soft and overdone to death. In the film, two publishing companies merge, forcing Lucy rivals (Lucy Hail with “Pretty Littles” and “Katie Kin”) and Joshua (Austin Stowell) to work brazenly together.

The duo seems to be not professionally compatible generallyBecause they have completely different approaches and worldview, which causes frequent contractions in the workplace. Worse, they turned out to be opposite to each other when they are unintentionally fighting for the same promotion. The tension grows, causing the events that force Lucy and Joshua to reconsider their perking perception of each other.

Well, for starters, both Hale, and Stolell share a sweet, sensitive chemistry in the explosions that work well (mostly) in the context of their hot and cold relationships. However, everything else is poured into the most sad treatment of the original material, which leads to a glazed version of a novel, which is not too complicated for starters. Moreover, the book does not paint Lucy or Joshua as a pretty main characters from the beginning, because they are both capable of being vicious/minor in the efforts to sabotage each other. Although the film touches on this aspect, this version of Lucy and Joshua feels less interesting, as if devoid of the nuance. Every cruel word that exchanges feels devoid of authenticity or contextual urgency, because history works when they assume that these people will eventually open and open a softer, kinder side.

There are also many brazen, banal dialogue that you can expect, so be sure to check the movie on Netflix if it’s your cup of tea. If not, you can always Revise “Hot Frosty” to experience the sophisticated guilty pleasure that will always be part of the Netflix’s Rom-Com spectrum.
