‘Lost count of…’: Vir Sanghvi slams Air India over frustrating experience, airline responds

Author Vir Sanghvi took to social media to share his frustrating experience with Air India and asked how many times the airline had done similar things to other passengers.

Sharing an update on his booking from the airline, which showed he had been downgraded, Sanguine wrote in a post on X: Why are premium passengers booking with @airindia? Time for Campbell Wilson to actually run the airline. Never happened until @TataCompanies took over.”

His post immediately struck a chord with other users, with one user commenting: “Feel that @airindia is still running like a govt even after privatisation. Govt VVIPs insisting on higher classes pushing paid passengers to lower classes. Hope I’m wrong.” , but the actions don’t seem to show up as a private operator.”

Sanghvi replied. “It has nothing to do with private or public. Bad management at the top is bad management by the whole board. Like many different tatas.”

Another user also singled out the personal joke. “@airindia worst service ever. They won’t even notify and passengers are suffering a lot. In my case, a senior citizen grandfather, who is 86 years old, had to wait for 6 hours without a wheelchair, even though we paid for the service. And the airline is not responsible,” he wrote.

The airline wrote in its response. “Dear Mr. Sanghvi, Thank you for taking the time to call. We have provided you with the details of the upgrade to business class. Please be assured that you can receive a full refund in the event of a cancellation or downgrade to economy class.” I regret and appreciate your kind understanding.”
