The awards season started early as the 82nd Golden Globe on Sunday, January 5, celebrated the best performances on television and in the movies.

If in December 2024 candidacies were announced, Emilia Perez entered the history of the “Golden Globe” as the most nominated film in the comedy or musical categories, receiving a total of 10 points. Brutalist and Conclave further – seven and six nominations, respectively.

From the side of the TV, Bear led the pack with five nods, continuing the debate over whether the series is actually a comedy. (For some of usthe answer is an unequivocal yes.) Shogun and Only murders in the building each was recognized four times. The former won in all categories, while the latter walked away empty-handed.

With roles in both LEAVE and Emilia Perez, Selena Gomez received the rare honor of being nominated in both the film and television categories in the same year. She ran into Costar Zoe Saldana, Angry‘s Ariana Grande and more for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture and was named Best Haki a star Jean Smart in the nomination “Best Actress in a Television Series, Comedy”.

“I don’t even know what to write,” Gomez said on her Instagram story last month. “I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I’m so grateful and honored by the @goldenglobes.”
