After first meeting in 1985, Presley and Keough exchanged vows in October 1988. The couple had a daughter Riley Keough and a son Benjamin Keough in 1989 and 1992. (Benjamin died by suicide aged 27 in July 2020)
Two years later, in 1994, Danny and the only daughter with Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley called it an exit. Despite their split, the couple remained close over the years.
“Their lives were very simple,” Riley said of her parents during the January 2025 episode. “call her papa” podcast “Not with the press and madness. But she didn’t have ten million helpers at home. She did not need all this. And I think that has changed.”
After their breakup, Lisa Marie moved on from Michael Jackson. The couple married in secret less than three weeks after her divorce from Danny. According to Lisa Marie, the doctors at first thought it was her appendix. “They rushed me into surgery,” she wrote. “When I came to, they told me I had an ectopic pregnancy.”
During her second pregnancy, Lisa Marie and Danny “didn’t know what to do,” so she had an abortion. She wrote: “It was the stupidest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. I was devastated. I did and we both cried. We were both destroyed and shortly after that we split up and went our separate ways. I couldn’t live with myself.”

It was very much like everyone knew everything about everyone. When I broke up with my boyfriend, she was involved,” Riley said of her mom. “Everyone, my brother, my dad.
