During the debut of her podcast “Date My”. On Tuesday, January 7, Walter began by revealing the reason behind her shocking disappearance.
“I want to reach out to what I think are the majority of people who are connecting right now, and to whom I am very grateful. And these are my loves. These are my friends who know me from the last podcast I was on,” she said of Kent’s Give Them Lala podcast. “I want to take this moment to reach out to you guys because I seem to have disappeared from the last podcast.”
Walter wanted to give an “explanation” for why did she “suddenly leave” and added: “The first thing I’ll say is no, I didn’t expect to leave at all. This was not the plan. To be honest, I thought I would stay at this last job forever. It was like I was ready for life imprisonment. Maybe not in the role I was in, but I will say in the company I was in.”
Reflecting on his time with Kent, 34, Walter noted that she “put everything in”. entered her work professionally and personally.
“I invested in a future that I thought we were all on the same page about,” she continued. “Basically what happened was that I said how I felt about the way certain things were being handled and the response I got to that was, in my opinion, not good. The responses I’ve received have been, frankly, blown away.”
Walter recalled feeling “heartbroken” by the backlash, saying: “I was in a position where I felt I had no option but to leave.”
Kent responded to Walter’s comments later that day, sharing on Amazon Live: “I didn’t know she quit the podcast and no, I didn’t listen. I don’t know how she describes me. She and I both know how it happened and I will always love her.’
She continued: “She was a big part of my life and we became very close. But at the end of the day, she was my employee first and foremost. She felt that she was no longer getting what she needed from this job. I encourage anyone who feels like a part of their life isn’t working or they’re no longer fulfilled to make a change. We all have that right, and it feels like her podcast is out, and I wish her well.”
Kent discovered Walter’s unexpected departure on her Give Them Lala podcast in November 2024. After Vanderpump Rules fans questioned whether the pair had been feuding, Kent later hinted at a split.
“It’s so wild because it’s like, ‘Where were you when she was on the podcast?’ Can’t find it anywhere. All I heard was, “Unhook her.” At the end of the day, she was my co-worker,” Kent said on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in December 2024. “She wanted to go and live on. And I’d be crazy not to say, “Go ahead and get whatever you want.” I don’t know how to break it.’
Kent specified that she does not plan for Walter to share his side of the story on the Give Them Lala podcast.
“Eventually, she was hired by Lala Kent. You no longer work. I wish you the best. We wish you a wonderful life,” she added. “I’ve learned a lot in a lot of ways in my life, from my ex-fiancé, to some of the friends I’ve had, to the coworkers I’ve had. Every thing I’ve been through in the last two or three years, I’ve learned something. I don’t regret anything, but I know how to do things differently.”
Walter, for her part, started her own podcast to create a platform for herself.
“I think sometimes we put all of ourselves into a relationship and we give it our all,” she explained on Tuesday. “And in the end, maybe we don’t get what we think we deserve in return. What we think we deserve can be as little as you not having my back. And it can be confusing and frustrating for people like me, because all this time I’ve been making you feel safe and I’ve got your back, and in moments when I should feel the same way, I don’t.”
Walter clarified that she was proud of how she handled the situation.
“We can choose a life path in this relationship with this person, with these people, who may not be what we hope, but we say, ‘Let’s see where this takes us.’ And that’s normal. It’s your choice because it’s your life,” she shared. “Other people may take a step back and say, ‘Nothing’s going to change here, no matter how hard I try.’ Or, “Nothing here will turn this way, stand this way, or whatever.” No matter how hard I try, it won’t work.”
She continued: “I strongly believe that when you make decisions based on kindness, purpose and future, and the betterment of yourself, others and the world, you can only be rewarded in the end. And you can be rewarded immediately or later.”
In closing, Walter expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s not all because of the way it ended. … I’ve worked hard to be in many of these positions, and I won’t take that away from me. Because I am a hard worker and I will always be a hard worker. It is very important for me. But I’m very grateful for all of that.”
