Kyle Richards revealed why she stopped filming on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that has yet to air.

The “RHOBH” star took a hiatus from filming Season 14 after breaking out during the Jan. 21 episode titled “The Perfect Storm.”

In the trailer for the episode, Kyle Richards runs out in a bathrobe during a women’s spa day.

During the interview with The Hollywood ReporterKyle Richards revealed that she stopped filming the show because she fell into depression.

Richards separated from her husband of almost 30 years, Maurizio Umanskyand since then their breakup in 2023 has been featured on the reality show. A sneak peek of the episode, titled The Perfect Storm, shows the 56-year-old running out of a spa a day after things got heated with her co-stars.

Richards broke out of the resort during filming

Footage from the “RHOBH” Season 14 trailer captured a heated conversation between Richards and her co-star, Dorit Kemsley.

The two women argued about Richards and Kemsley’s husband texting, and Kyle snapped, “What the hell else do you want from me?”

Kemsley yelled back, “I want you to stop raising your damn voice at me!”

Richards was also seen leaving the spa with one of the stars Bozoma St. Johnat home in a robe after running into the ladies.

“I’m done with the devil,” Richards exclaimed. I finished. I don’t do it anymore!”

Richards revealed that she stopped filming the reality show after a spa day for a week.

The “RHOBH” star says she was plagued by depression

Richards told The Hollywood Reporter that depression played a role in her decision to stop filming “RHOBH.” She didn’t film for a week after the spa day and explained that she was tired of confronting other women.

“I regretted dealing with it, but I didn’t leave. I’m not one to get depressed,” she said. “I’ve had anxiety all my life, but never depression. I really felt like I was struggling with depression and I was expressing it. And I just felt like I couldn’t go into scripts all the time and just have everyone jump on me. “

“I thought, ‘Maybe today will be different,’ as naive as that sounds,” she continued. “People I thought were my friends suddenly felt that they weren’t. I just felt like it was too much with what was going on in my life and I thought, “Why should I put myself through this?” I don’t know why I keep doing it.’

The reality star almost didn’t return for season 14

Richards also revealed that she almost didn’t return for season 14 because of her personal life. The former “Little House on the Prairie” actress is the only original cast member still on “RHOBH.”

The OG said her personal life almost kept her from signing on for the current season, but she decided the show would keep her busy as she adjusted to her new life.

“It was the closest I ever got to not being back on the show,” Richards said. “There’s a lot of pressure on the show as it is, and there’s been so much hard and painful stuff in my personal life. I thought, ‘I really don’t know how I can get through the season facing this.’ We also have a lot of fun on the show and I didn’t even know if I had it in me.”

“I remember coming home when Mau had just left and Alexia had just left. It was like having my house so quiet.” I’m not used to it,” she continued. “It was one of those days when nobody was there. I thought this new life with fewer people at home would be amazing for me. And besides, I want to be busy and busy.’

Richards said production respected her decision to stop filming

Richards said Bravo respected her decision to take a break from filming after she stormed out of a spa day at St. John’s house.

“I said, ‘I just can’t do it; I can’t shoot right now,’ and the production respected that,” Richards said. “They know I’ve never done that. In all these years, I’ve never called in sick or turned up for anything; I’ve never canceled a shoot. So they said, ‘Take this time, I think you need it, and we’ll get together again when you’re better.’ I was definitely supported by the network and the production, so I took my time until I felt strong again and got my mind set on what I wanted to do.”

The reality star added that she took what appeared to be “a lot” of time off because she “never left”.

“I don’t really remember because it was seven months ago, but not more than a week,” she said of her break. “We do an episode a week. If I was going to leave, I had to leave. And if I wanted to stay, I had to respect what I signed up for. So I took it in Unfortunately, the people pleaser didn’t get away (completely) with it!
