Kyla Nicole on SWAT: Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce quotes

Influencer and model Kayla Nicole is one of 16 celebrities featured on Fox Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Challenge — and soon her ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce and his girlfriend taylor swift, became the topic of conversation.

At the start of the second series, which aired on Wednesday, January 7, as part of the two-part premiere, Nicole, 33, told surfer Alana Blanchard and Disney alums Kayla Pratt that her ex Kelce, 35 years old.

“He’s dating Taylor Swift,” she said. “I’m just getting a lot of s… on the internet because he’s dating such a mega superstar.”

Nicole and Kelsey dated on and off for five years before calling it quits in 2022. Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating Swift in the summer of 2023.

Later in the two-episode premiere Special Forces soldiers pull out an article headlined: “Travis Kelso’s ex Kayla Nicole asks trolls to ‘leave her alone’ as Taylor Swift releases new album.”

This article was originally published by The Independent in April 2024. Nicole tweeted at the time: “I just can’t quite digest all these new albums. I’m still on Cowboy Carter.”

The post was taken as a dig at Swift’s release Department of tortured poets aka the first album to contain tracks inspired by Kelce.

“I am problem-free. Mind my business. Never respond to constant vitriol,” she replied at the time?. “Tough as they come and don’t expect to get a pat on the back for it. Just know that everyone has a breaking point and I wish ‘everything’ (because you know exactly who you are) would leave me alone.”

On the show, one of the spiders told Nicole that they wanted to explore what happens “when social media becomes a battlefield.”

In the second episode, the rest of the cast chatted about Kelce.

“I didn’t know it was her ex,” Pratt said, before Blanchard asked, “Is he a football player?”

Wide receiver Golden Tate told them afterward that Kelce, “maybe the greatest tight end of all time.”

“Okay, we’re not here to pump that shit up right now,” Pratt stated. “We’ll just say he’s good.”

Social decay

“Honestly, going through a public breakup is overwhelming,” she said in a confessional in the second episode. “I’ve never experienced anything like it. Being reduced to a headline – something as small as someone’s ex-girlfriend – I feel like if I finish it, it will have a huge impact for me.”

Interrogation

Before calling Nicole into an interrogation room in episode two, SWAT soldiers learn how Nicole was involved in Kelsey and Swift’s online relationship.

“Yeah, it’s pretty consistent (and) exhausting,” she told staff about the discourse. “It doesn’t matter — I could write about the sky being blue and people will get a reaction about their ex and their new situation. It inadvertently affected me to the point where it made me question my overall worth as a person.”

Then Nicole started to cry. “This is only a comparison. It’s just, like, in a loop. I guess I’m still trying to figure out how to deal with it.”

When she returned to her colleagues, Nicole explained what had happened. “They brought up the article about my ex. I didn’t think they were going to do that,” she said. “They’re just really good at putting the pieces together to feel like I need to prove myself to people.”
