In the video confirmed by the Reuters news agency, the plane can be seen heading towards the ground at high speed with its landing gear down.
Seconds after attempting to land, a giant fireball erupts.
The airline said the plane “made an emergency landing” about 3 km (1.9 miles) from Aktau.
According to the Flightradar24 flight tracking website, the plane took off from Baku at 03:55 on Wednesday and crashed around 06:28.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Transport, there were 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board the Embraer 190 plane.

Unverified video footage showed emergency services putting out the fire and pulling people out from the rubble.
