Fans and social media users were quick to worry when Karen Huger was noticeably absent from The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 9 reunion seating plan Bravo shared on Instagram on Thursday, January 9. The photo features “RHOP” castmates Stacey Rush, Wendy Osefa, Mia Thornton, Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby and Keyarna Stewart. Even Shadow room noticed that Portia Williams left a comment on Bravo’s post asking about Karen’s whereabouts.

Well, it turns out Karen Huger needs time to focus on herself, according to her manager Ryan Tresdale. In a statement to PEOPLEhe recently explained her absence by revealing that she had decided to go to rehab.

“Karen has made an important decision to enter a private recovery program, so she was unable to attend today’s taping.” Tresdale said in a statement.

He also shared that he and her team fully support her decision because it was what she wanted.

“She was fully supported in this election. We support Karen as she begins this important journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth,” added Tresdale.

How Shadow room previously reported Karen Huger was stopped in March 2024 by Montgomery police. In a statement, Karen revealed that she met a friend for dinner at the time, which led to an emotional conversation. On the way home, she was surprised and started crying. When she saw an oncoming car, she swerved to avoid a head-on collision, but ended up hitting a divider and then a tree. She suffered a few bruises, but was thankful to be alive.

Officials later charged the reality TV star with driving under the influence. PEOPLE also noted additional charges such as “reckless driving in a careless and reckless manner endangering property, life and person, reckless driving with wanton and willful disregard for the safety of persons and property.”

Although Karen was not injured in the incident, she was still convicted on five of the six counts, with DUI being the most significant. Fox5DC.
