When asked about the Saturday, January 25 episode “Light weights” Johnson, 28, simply replied, “No,” the podcast was hoping anyone would be on the beaches of Mexico.
“There’s a reason for that,” Johnson said. “I know people have gotten in trouble in the past for DMing people, talking to people. I don’t want any unkindness hanging on my shoulders. I don’t want to be pressured before I can do it myself.”
Johnson shared that he hopes to enter the spinoff show with a “clean slate and an open mind,” adding that his mindset will be “who’s here, who he is.”
“If someone is happy to meet me, they might say that, great. I would be more than happy to talk to them,” Johnson said. “I just want to go out in the open and meet someone, just with a clean slate.”
Johnson continued: “Obviously, I’m sure I’m going to hear from whoever it is, but I don’t want to dig too deep and message them and find out everything I think I know beforehand and come in with a preconceived idea. I want to log in and just say: “Who are you?”

(Tran, 27, eventually got engaged Devin Strader during the season finale, but revealed live After the final rose the special thing is that they called it an exit.)
“Since then, I’ve grown a lot in terms of what I want and what I need,” Johnson explained. “I think a lot of people in this world are a little bit lost in the sauce or drinking the Kool-Aid, whatever you want to say. I want someone who is unaffected by this life and this energy. Like, I want them to be a part of it because it’s fun, it’s cool, it’s an experience, but I’m just a very real person and I don’t take life too seriously because I don’t. I want someone I can live that lifestyle with.’
For now, Johnson said he tries not to think about it Bachelor in Paradise. “It’s hard to get excited about it because the time until then will seem so much longer if I’m thinking about it all the time. Like, “Oh, I can’t wait until June or July or whatever it is.”
Johnson explained that he is still looking for dates, but not yet leaves for Bachelor in Paradise — if a special person does not come his way.
“I tell whoever it is, ‘Hey, this is my plan, like, I already said yes, I plan to be on this show. But if something feels absolutely right, I’m not going to shy away from it. I’m not going to just give up my life like that because (this) show is in front of me,” Johnson said. “But I let them know that was my original plan so they could choose whether to go ahead with it or not.”
Johnson noted that he has a “fear” that someone might just see him as a “commodity” on the show and not recognize the real him.
“Someone’s going to see me as just a commodity, or they’re going to say, ‘Hey, I want to know who you are for who you are,'” Johnson said. “Someone might say, ‘Oh, I want to date him because he’s potentially a commodity.’ I don’t see myself like that, I just see myself as a normal guy who’s on a dating show for fun and just looking for love.’
