Jonah Hill has one condition to return to Superbad 2
There was a time when the mention of “McLovin” made people think McDonalds was doing a Valentine’s Day promotion. However, after 2007, thanks to John Hill, Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and one of the best comedies ever made“Superbad” made it perfectly reasonable to have that name on your driver’s license. It also became an an important film about high schoolso much so that years later people still ask his stars if we’ll ever get a sequel. Well, one of the loudest mouths in the movie and the most cursed actor in film, Jonah Hillhas such a ridiculous plan that it might work.
In an interview in 2022, p In the magazineHill said he would be completely against bringing Seth (Hill), Evan (Sir) and Vogel, aka McLaughlin (Mintz-Plasse) back into the world, on the condition that they all be in their 80s. The comedy superstar is mulling over the proposal, but Hill admitted that he’s actually excited about the idea and has it all lined up:
“I didn’t give it to anyone. What I want to do is do a “Superbad 2” when we’re about 80. Like “Old People’s Home, Super Bad.” Our spouses die and we are single again. That’s what I want Superbad 2 to be, and that’s the only way I’ll ever get there.
It might be a wild idea, but her co-star Hilla was more than happy to hear it.
Michael Cera would be ready to release a seasoned sequel to SuperBad
After Jonah Hill’s hilarious concept for a Superbad sequel came out, Michael Cera gave his thoughts on the matter and was all for it, even if he didn’t think anyone else would be. “I mean, I’d be willing to do anything with this group of people,” he said Esquire in 2022 “I think everyone is pretty adamantly against it, just because we feel good about the movie. It can only tarnish what is a good memory,” Cera theorized. “Still, I’d just like to do something with the same group of people, even if it’s not ‘Superbad.'”
Elsewhere, Christopher Mintz-Plasse was asked in 2021 if a Supervillain sequel would work 98.1 WOGLand he suggested that the way to go might be to swap the genders of the characters:
“Sometimes when you make a sequel, it can weaken the first one. If there was a way to do it, (a female version) would be the way, for sure.”
And that’s why we have movies like Booksmart (starring Hill’s own sister, Beanie Feldstein) and Bottoms. Of course, the 2013 apocalyptic comedy This Is The End already served as a sort of “super badass” reunion in which Cera and Hill were exaggerated versions of themselves (we hope). As for Hill’s proposed Superbad 2 release, you’ll just have to be sure and check the list of local theaters in 2064 to see if it ever happens.
