At the end of the trial, Depp emerged victorious, with a jury awarding him $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

In a statement after the sentencing, he thanked the jury for their decision, saying they had “given me my life back”.

He added: “From the outset, the purpose of bringing this case was to uncover the truth, regardless of the outcome. Telling the truth was something I owed to my children and to all those who remained steadfast in their support of me.”

Meanwhile, Heard expressed her disappointment with the decision through her representative, calling it a setback for women.
