John Amos passed away in August, but by then his son Kelly Christopher announced his death, more than a month has passed. Since then, the actor’s daughter, Shannon Amoslaunched an investigation into his death and hired a lawyer to lead her fight.

“The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr. Amos’ care and the events leading up to his death,” attorney Shannon Amos said in a statement. “We are committed to using all available avenues to ensure that these questions are answered.”

But Kelly says there is no need for war, and a private investigator said there was no sign of “foul play” in the actor’s death. Here’s the he-said-she-said between the siblings and what else has been reported about the family feud.

KC Amos Responds to Sister’s Elder Abuse Allegations

As previously reported by KC discovered death October 1, but his father died on August 21. He also said the “Good Times” actor died of congestive heart failure in Los Angeles. He was 84.

Attorney Shannon, James H. Davis III, confirmed that she had hired legal counsel to deal with her father’s death, p PEOPLE. She appears to have directly accused her brother of elder abuse for the second time. Shannon reportedly wants more information about her father’s admission to Centinela Hospital and his condition at the time. She claimed that someone falsely impersonating her took John to the hospital. Shannon claims she requested his medical records in three official requests, but received no response.

In addition, she wants the Los Angeles Police Department and Adult Protective Services to release summaries of their investigations into her past allegations of abuse involving John Amos.

Meanwhile, Kelly Christopher doesn’t hesitate to cover her sister’s claims with her receipts! He gave an explanation PEOPLE on decisions made before the death of John Amos. He claimed that John asked to go to Centinela Hospital because of his trust in its medical staff. He also said his father had asked him not to contact other family members, and KC said he “honored his request.”

“Let me be clear and transparent. There was no physical, financial, emotional or psychological abuse or disrespect towards my father by myself, Gene Brummett or Belinda Foster,” said Kay C. “This was documented by an independent investigation by Homeland Security, Inc., Adult Protective Services and other law enforcement agencies. The reality is that he died of natural causes at the age of 84. Stop making it more than what it is.’

Kelly also hired a defense investigator to conduct a “comprehensive two-year investigation” into financial irregularities, including missing money and stolen property from his father in Colorado, Memphis, New Jersey and Los Angeles. Investigator Kevin Faller eventually said all charges against Kelly Christopher in New Jersey were dropped.

“The current allegations of foul play and elder abuse are not serious,” said Kevin Faller. “John Amos has been blessed to work and spend time with (KC, Gene and Belinda), write, produce and pray with them as a family and as his team. John died of natural causes at the age of 84. There was no foul play.”

Faller also cleared John Amos’ longtime manager, Belinda Foster, of any wrongdoing. “John told me that Belinda was more of a daughter to him than his own biological daughter.” – the investigator told the PEOPLE.

The daughter had previously questioned the safety of John Amos

Shannon Amos’ death comes more than a year after she said her father was a victim of elder abuse and financial exploitation and was hospitalized in critical condition. She made the allegations in a GoFundMe campaign, claiming John called her from a Memphis hospital. Shannon did not specify who carried out the alleged abuse, but claimed that one of the people was a caregiver. Her GoFundMe campaign sought $500,000 for legal, nursing and care expenses.

But John Amos later denied claims of abuse against his daughter in a video message from his hospital bed. The actor cited confusion over fundraising. He also seemed to suggest that if anyone was going to insult him, it would be Shannon. He said they had problems that led to his hospitalisation, saying his daughter had taken advantage of him.

“She would be the prime suspect – if you wanted her to be” John said. “I don’t know if that’s the right term or not. But it is to her that I would attribute my violence against an elderly person. It’s definitely elder abuse.”

Additionally, his manager Belinda said his hospitalization was due to heart problems caused by fluid filling his lower body and abdomen. However, they both denied that his medical scare was life-threatening.

Shannon Amos has not publicly responded to her brother’s response to her investigation.
