Joe Amabile took a trip down memory lane Dancing with the stars partner Jenna Johnson and admitted that not all the time spent together was enjoyable.

“Remember I almost broke your neck?” Amabile, 38, asked Johnson, 30, during the Saturday, Dec. 16, episode of “Happy bachelor time” podcast.

Johnson didn’t miss a beat, revealing the near-crash during the season 27 Halloween episode.

“I almost killed you. I swear by my life, she almost died,” Amabile told the audience. “It was crazy.”

Looking back, Amabile remembered how he messed up at the very end of their Frankenstein-themed Argentine tango. Only after turning Johnson 180 degrees did her body tense up. Amabile could no longer extend her reach, so the professional dancer had to stop her backflip and roll forward to avoid hitting her head.

“Honestly, Joe, that was your best dance and it was the final. We only had one lift, – Johnson reassured him, explaining: – He put his hand in the wrong place. I was going to do a backflip. I don’t know how I did it.’

Amabile noted that getting his hands stuck “was the only thing I couldn’t do” in the routine or we would have messed up. “It was the only position I couldn’t lift it in,” he explained, teasing being warned to “just don’t do it” before taking the stage and “that’s what I did.”

Johnson and Amabile were paired for 27th season of the series competitionwhich aired in 2018. The duo was the eighth couple to be eliminated from the show after the semi-finals.

Although Johnson didn’t seem fazed by her near-disastrous experience with Amabile, she revealed that she hopes to be in partnership with a football player instead of another Bachelor Nation star after their time together.

Earlier this year, there were rumors that Johnson was unhappy with whom she was paired with Bachelor alum Joey Graziadei over an NFL player Season 33. (Danny Amendola joined the show as Whitney Carsonpartner.)

“I never had a football player. I always am wanted a partnership with them because, again, they’re athletic, they’re totally open to being coached and yelled at,” she explained. “It’s a lot of hours. So they had that experience. Plus, they’re usually pretty big and strong, so they can lift a girl everywhere.”

Wife and co-host Amabile, Serena Pittteased that his mess just proved why the NFL player would be a great partner moving forward.

“Dancing with the Stars” series pro Jenna Johnson admitted that she initially hoped for another partner instead of Joey Graziadea. “Joey knows that, I’ve been honest with him,” Johnson, 30, said on the Thursday, Sept. 26, episode of the Almost Famous podcast. “I think people think we know who we’re going to have for (…)

“That’s why she wants a footballer,” Pete, 27, joked. “She says, ‘They would never do that to me.'”

Johnson insisted on it her time with both Amabile and Graziadei, 29, had equal fun even though Amabile didn’t win. (Johnson and Graciadei won by Mirrball trophy in November.)

“Our season was one of my favorite seasons,” Johnson said of Amabile. “Your dance experience was not the best. I had so much fun rehearsing with you every day because you were so depressed.’

She gushed: “We were laughing so hard. I think because there were no expectations in terms of dancing we were just like, ‘Let’s do it!'”
