Jennifer Lopez drops Ben Affleck from her 2024 resume amid divorce

Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from The Accountant star in August, and the duo is currently still mediating the divorce.

After living a full year, Jennifer Lopez took to her Instagram page to share moments from her life to commemorate how she spent 2024.

The video montage features highlights from cover shoots, performances, premieres and awards. However, the actress especially ignored her soon-to-be ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

Even in the screening segments of her documentary This Is Me… Now: A Love Story , Affleck was noticeably absent, despite the fact that the project was inspired by her romance with the actor.

By all accounts, it was a deliberate omission by the Atlas star and a sign of her readiness to put the emotional weight of her long-running divorce behind her as she heads into the new year.

This was further suggested in one highlight where she said, “In my bad moments, I’ve learned to just feel the feelings and then let them go.”

Lopez used the video to show fans her determination to reach new heights next year, declaring: “The best is yet to come.”

Unsurprisingly, they responded with words of support in the comments section, expressing their excitement for what the singer has in store.

One fan commented: “Love you! It’s been a tough year but we’re so excited for 2025,” while another said: “To an even bigger, better year! This is Her… 2025.”

A third fan remarked: “You’ve been so amazing this year. I am so proud of you. You are my great inspiration. I know 2025 will be a great year for you, the best is yet to come!”

Another Instagram user mentioned: “The best is yet to come!! It’s been a rough year but DON’T BE ASKED! We love you so much and are going to make a cut on that resume. Let’s go 2025!!”

Another person wrote: “You are truly Unstoppable! Can’t wait to see what you’re going to accomplish next.”

According to Daily MailLopez and Affleck met for lunch on the Sunday before Christmas at the members-only Soho House in West Hollywood.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer wore a cozy oversized cardigan and baggy blue jeans for the date and reportedly exchanged gifts with the “Argo” actor despite filing for divorce from him in August.

Affleck was also spotted picking up his son from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s $7.8 million four-bedroom home in Brentwood Park that same day.

This happened after a source said Page six last week that the exes “have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being in a romantic relationship.”

The insider added: “Ben and Jennifer are still in touch and they communicate when it comes to their children.”

Before the recap, Lopez hinted at her plans for the new year, which include “pushing my boundaries creatively and where that takes me,” according to Daily Mail.

The multi-hyphenated actress shared that these plans extend to all of her endeavors, “whether it’s acting, music, producing, or expanding JLo Beauty.”

She added: “I want to continue to challenge myself to evolve and try new things while staying true to who I am and who I love.”

The actress already has several projects, including the release of the musical “Kiss of the Spider-Woman”.

Lopez stars and also serves as an executive producer, with Bill Condon directing the project. The film is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025, although production wrapped earlier this year.

Earlier this month, sources close to Lopez revealed that she is eager to move on from the past before the new year and is “focused on her own life.”

“She’s had a rough year, but she’s doing well,” an insider told People magazine of the mother of two. “She’s ready for Christmas and a fresh start to the new year.”

This Christmas, Affleck and Lopez, as they should, spent the holiday separately. Sources revealed that Affleck celebrated with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner and their three children, while Lopez reportedly celebrated with her sister Linda Lopez, producing partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, close friend Michelle Chiaravale and their children.

The duo is still dealing with their divorce after Lopez filed papers in August to end their two-year marriage.
