For nearly 12 years, the reality star has let the cameras document her life on TLC 19 Children and counting and a spinoff Calculating. During the show, Duggar witnessed her sisters fall in love, leaving her behind I wonder when her time will come.
“I’m just like, ‘What is this? Is it me? Do I have a problem?” I know I’ve prayed about it for years and must have thought, ‘What’s the big deal,’” she shared with People in August 2024 “All my brothers and sisters, most of them got married in their early 20s. I am definitely the oldest. So it was frustrating at times.”
Little did Duggar know, something special was brewing with the longtime family friend Stephen Wiseman.
The Duggar family has been mesmerizing viewers with their unique courtship process since 2008 — and has kept the tradition going strong ever since. Although their romance was not love at first sight, the couple rekindled their relationship in early 2024, fell in love and had a fabulous summer wedding.
“Just seeing it happen is unbelievable and it’s hard to believe,” Duggar said People days until her wedding in August 2024. “It’s a dream come true.”

2011 year
Wiseman, who lives in Nebraska with his parents and siblings, first connected with the Duggars through their families when they were teenagers.
“(Wisman) traveled and sang,” Duggar recalled People in 2024 “I remember them coming to our house probably 13 or so years ago and they ended up being snowed in here, which doesn’t really happen in Arkansas. I remember playing games late into the night, solving puzzles together until the snow melted and they couldn’t go home. I don’t remember Steven very well because I’m older than him, so he wasn’t on my radar at all.’
2020-2022 years
In 2024, an interview with PeopleDuggar revealed that she briefly dated Wiseman a few years ago before breaking up. Despite the breakup, the couple stayed in touch and “spoke to each other over the years.” In March 2022, Duggar’s brother Jeremiah Duggar married Wiseman’s sister Hanna.

In the early months of 2024, Jana and Steven rekindled their relationship and decided to take their relationship more seriously. “It was like what are we doing? We still enjoy each other. We still value each other a lot,” she recalled People. “I used to move more slowly, but as time went by his character came back, he still loves me no matter what. I know we have a big crazy family and we still go through a lot. Oh my god, there aren’t many people who do that. He must really, truly care about me.”
June 2024
Although the couple has never publicly commented on their courtship, they managed to secretly get engaged on June 15, 2024. A month later, fans speculated that Yana was engaged when she posted a series of photos on Instagram with a ring on her left hand.
Usher, Millie Bobby Brown and other celebrities went to the chapel in 2024 and got married. Usher celebrated a career milestone along with a personal one when he married Jenn Goicochea in Las Vegas. August 2024
Two months after the engagement, the couple was able to experience theirs dream wedding in front of 500 guests. She and Steven tied the knot in a “classic, elegant” ceremony near Prairie Grove, Arkansas, on Thursday, August 15. People reported. “I’ve been praying for this for years,” Duggar told the publication while celebrating the ceremony.
The Calculating star enjoyed her wedding with Jessa Duggar Seewald acting as her maid of honor. Yana’s sister-in-law Abby Duggar as well as sisters Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johanna Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuola and Jardine Duggar served as friends.
“The cutest wedding ever,” – Jessa wrote through her Instagram Story after the wedding. Jinger added, “The most gorgeous bride.”
January 2025
Stephen celebrated Ian’s 35th birthday by sharing a collage of photos from across the couple’s relationship on his social media.
“Happy Birthday to the most wonderful and incredible friend and wife! I love you!” he wrote through Instagram January 12. “DEFINITION OF LOVE: Charmingly or gracefully beautiful, having a beauty that attracts the heart or mind and the eye, as a person or face, lovely; very pleasant, of great moral and spiritual beauty.”
According to Steven, his wife fits the bill. “You have so many gifts and talents that you want to bless others with!” he added.
