President Biden final declaration The fact that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was now the “law of the land” drew derision in his final days in office. Biden isn’t even safe from the insults of Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Rose was banned After an investigation in 1989, it was concluded that he not only gambled on MLB games, but went so far as to bet on games involving the Cincinnati Reds while managing the team.

Rose signed an agreement with commissioner Bart Giamatti that declared him permanently ineligible for baseball, but allowed him to file for reinstatement and avoid an official statement that he had bet on baseball. Rose’s numerous appeals for reinstatement over the past few decades have been unsuccessful.

As a player, Rose won three World Series titles, two with the Reds and one with the Phillies, while appearing in 17 All-Star games and winning the NL MVP in 1973. He still holds the record for most hits in MLB history with 4,256.

However, his betting scandal made him one of the most controversial baseball Hall of Famers after his retirement. His absence from the Hall of Fame is one of the most hotly debated debates in sports.

So Vance didn’t hesitate to reference Rose’s famous Hall of Fame to poke fun at the outgoing president.

Citing the American Bar Association in the statement, Biden argued that the ERA “clears all necessary hurdles to be formally added to the Constitution.” Biden added he said he agreed “with the ABA and leading constitutional scholars that the Equal Rights Amendment has become part of our Constitution.” But despite Biden’s argument, the National Archives disagreed.

In a post on the X call ERA “Law of the Land” implies that it is already part of the Constitution, which it is not. Social network users were quick to point this out, with some calling the president a “dictator”.

The ERA is a proposed constitutional amendment that would grant “equal rights before the law” to all Americans, regardless of sex. Its latest iteration was New York Democrats’ swift response to the June 2022 Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson v. Women’s Health.
