When he leaves office next week, President Biden he will be remembered primarily for his stunning incompetence. As a new generation of officeholders from both parties grapples with the devastating consequences of his failed leadership, his devastating impact on his party, his agenda, and his constituents will cast a long shadow.
Among countless failures, five are cautionary tales for future leaders.
Breathtaking dishonesty
Even in the corrupt world of politics, Biden stood out for his apparent dishonesty. His administration will be synonymous with gaslighting and influence peddling.

He lied about little things—like graduating first in law school or leading the civil rights movement. He lied about personal things – like claiming his son had died in Iraq and that family members had been killed by a drunk driver.

He lied about obvious things like inflation rates, student loan forgiveness and his promise not to. forgive the many crimes of your son. He lied about matters of global importance – the security of the border, the successful withdrawal from Afghanistan, and his direct involvement in the discrediting of his family.
Nothing from his administration can be trusted – not even the job numbers.
He was president in absentia
He ran his campaign trail in 2020 from the metaphorical basement. We rarely saw him. He would occasionally choose to argue some point to promote a narrative, but rarely asked questions.

He rarely interacted with the media and when he did it was with a pre-arranged select few. His uninterrupted holidays rarely appeared to be involved in any actual work. He showed little familiarity with the facts.
It is not clear to what extent he is involved in making decisions. He spent about 40% of his time outside the White House.
He did not show any leadership
He has failed in the basic tenets of presidential leadership. Our enemies were not afraid of us. Our allies used us. Our bureaucracy was armed against us.

Biden did not attempt to bridge political differences. The main reason for his candidacy was his knowledge of Washington is a promise to unite. There is no evidence of any success in bringing the country together.
Rather than laying the groundwork for a prosperous future, he used his political capital to go after his political opposition. Most devastating to his party was his failure to lay the groundwork for a new generation of Democratic leadership.

He adopted policies that didn’t work
Even a great leader could not succeed on an agenda that imports crime, maintains unprecedented levels of spending, pursues economically destructive energy policies, and prioritizes foreign aid over America’s well-being.

If the Democrats have policy ideas that actually work, Biden seems never to have embraced them. Immigrationcrime, foreign policy, woke policies, and of course the economy all failed and four years later were resoundingly rejected by voters.
He ruined our future
Biden will be remembered for looting the treasury on his way out the door.
In an undercover video, an EPA adviser described Biden’s approach to climate initiatives as “throwing gold bars off the Titanic” — a metaphor we’ll find describing much of the government in the waning days of the Biden administration.

In a small attempt to undermine his successor, Biden struck down rules preventing offshore drilling, the U.S. expensive climate initiativesforce us into protracted international conflicts, flood the country with millions of people who are here illegally, and install bureaucratic loyalists and ensure that many of them don’t need to come to office for the next five years. These efforts not only undermine the incoming administration, but undermine American prosperity.
As bad as things look now, the generational impact of Biden’s failures will set his legacy of failure in stone.
