James Kennedy will not be charged with domestic violence

“I was just informed by the Burbank District Attorney’s Office that no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” Kennedy’s attorney said. Scott Leeman told Us Weekly in a statement on Wednesday, January 22. “I want to thank them for their thorough and professional handling of my client’s case.”
The statement continued: “Their thorough investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning – there was no basis for any charges against Mr. Kennedy. James is grateful that this is behind him and looks forward to continuing to focus on his sobriety and DJ career.”
Kennedy, 32, was arrested last month on charges of domestic violence after an alleged incident with a girlfriend Eli Luber. He denied his guilt at the time.
“We are conducting our own investigation into the allegations brought against James by the Burbank Police Department,” Kennedy’s attorneys said. the statement said at that time. “It is our understanding that there were no injuries, and we hope that after a careful review, the city attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
According to a police report, local officers were called to the shared residence of Kennedy and Luber in Los Angeles after receiving a 911 call about an alleged fight. Kennedy was released from custody hours later after posting $20,000 bond.
A few days later, 28-year-old Luber broke her silence about the incident.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out with love and support and checking in on me,” she wrote. via Instagram Story. “I’m fine and finding the time I need. I deeply appreciate all the kindness and respect for my privacy at this time.”
On the eve of the holidays, Luber left her and Kennedy’s home in favor of an Airbnb with her parents. Neither Bravo star has confirmed that their relationship is officially over, though a source has said us earlier this month that friends believe they are “finished”.
According to the insider, Kennedy told friends that “they’re just chilling” and staying in touch.
“Everyone around them thinks they’re done and can’t come back from it,” the source added.
Kennedy is also focused on his sobriety.
“I’m trying to make some big changes in my life,” he wrote via Instagram Story on Dec. 14. – I find time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth and be close to my loved ones. Going through tough times is not easy, but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with an incredible support system around me.”
