12 year old boy Massachusetts A “magical” high school student was remembered after he died after a New Hampshire skiing accident.

Jack Murrary, 12, skied Mount Cranmore in Conway. New HampshireOn New Year’s Eve, he crashed into a tree while moving on the path. Authorities said the young man was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The Conway Police Department said he was found unconscious and taken to the emergency room MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“Born on May 23, 2012, he is the adoring son of Paul and Crystal and the lovable and best ‘big brother’ to Finley Murray of Weymouth. Jack is the most magical little boy and was on his way to becoming a truly exceptional man,” his obituary said.

“His positivity and laugh are infectious. He is a loving and patient person who always sees the best in people. Jack is compassionate, empathetic and gives the best hugs. Jack is the greatest kid a parent could ask for and we are all better for knowing him.” “

A GoFundMe has been set up in memory of Jack, who played drums in the school band, and his family is asking people to honor his life by donating to the music program in lieu of flowers.

“Helping other aspiring musicians like Jack have the opportunity to enrich their lives through art is a wonderful way to honor Jack’s memory,” his father Paul Murray wrote on the GoFundMe page.

The 12-year-old was remembered as a “bright light” in his obituary, with his family listing an impressive list of interests the high school student was passionate about.

“The brightest lights in life never shine long enough, and Jack was that bright light to so many,” the obituary said. “Despite his short life, he did more in twelve years than most do in a lifetime.”

Murray was remembered for his budding entrepreneur, football, playing the trombone and drums, and his artistic skills.

“Jack loved his family, friends and neighbors (he told them regularly) and he knew how much he was loved. Jack’s absence will leave a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him and the entire Weymouth community,” his family said.

“We ask everyone to take inspiration from Jack’s short life journey and apply it to your own life. We love you Jack always and forever!”

In a statement after the accident, a spokesperson for Cranmore Mountain Resort offered condolences for “this tragic loss.”

“On behalf of Cranmore Mountain Resort, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family,” a resort spokesperson said. “The entire Cranmore family is saddened by this tragic loss.”

Conway Police Chief Christopher Mattei echoed the ski resort’s sentiments, saying, “On behalf of the government Conway Police Department and my deepest condolences to all the first responders who helped, and to the family of the 12-year-old.”
