Israeli settlers attack Palestinian villages, burn cars and injure several residents in the West Bank.

Israeli settlers under the protection of Israeli forces burned cars and property, while also injuring several Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

On Monday evening, the Wafa news agency quoted Jalal Bashir, head of the Jinasfut village council, as saying that the attacks took place in the villages of Jinasfut and Fundug, east of Galgilya.

He added that dozens of Israeli settlers stormed Jinasfut and burned three houses, a kindergarten and a workshop. Settlers also burned several cars belonging to Palestinian residents.

A Palestinian was injured in the head while trying to protect his home. Several others were being treated after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli soldiers.

In the south of the West Bank, Israeli settlers also raided a Palestinian house in the Masafer Yatta area. Dozens of settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones in southern Hebron, damaging several of them.

Yesh Din, which monitors human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, shared video clips showing Palestinian cars and a building burning from earlier settler attacks.

According to the group, settlers set fire to two Palestinian houses and at least four cars in the village of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah. In the village of Ein Siniya, immigrants attacked and burned houses located in the north of Ramallah. He added that settlers in the Turmus Aya area, northeast of Ramallah, attacked and damaged Palestinian properties, and also threw stones at vehicles on Route 60 near al-Lubban Asharqiya, south of Nablus.

The attacks by Israeli settlers come as US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday to lift US sanctions against them in the occupied West Bank. The Biden administration described them as part of “extremist settlement movement”.

The office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Palestine has also expressed concern over the “resurgence of violence” by Israeli settlers and armed forces in the occupied West Bank.

“The UN Human Rights Office is alarmed by the repeated wave of violence by Israeli security forces and settlers in the occupied West Bank, coinciding with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza,” the statement said.

The OHCHR also said that the violence was accompanied by increased restrictions on Palestinian freedom of movement, including the closure of checkpoints and the installation of new gates, resulting in entire communities entering.

Highlighting recent attacks by settlers on Palestinian villages, as well as Monday’s raid by Israeli forces on several West Bank towns that killed a Palestinian teenager, OHCHR also expressed concern over Israel’s plans to expand and increase operations in the Palestinian territories.
