India U-19 Women clinched the inaugural Asia Cup. Team India defeated Bangladesh women by 41 runs. Gongadi Trisha became the architect of victory. Trisha scored a brilliant half-century and trapped the opposition with her bowling prowess.

India U-19 Women win maiden Asia Cup title

India’s U-19 women’s team secured a win in the first women’s competition Asian Cup. India claimed the title behind Bangladesh by 41 runs in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Gongadi Trisha’s match-winning 52 runs and a stellar bowling effort sealed the win.

Outstanding performance by Trisha

Bangladesh has won the toss and has decided to roll first. While batting first, India set the target of 117/7 in 20 overs. Trisha’s 52 runs off 47 balls lead to a decent target. Mithila Vinod’s 17 off 12 and Aayushi Shukla’s 10 off 13 helped India achieve the defensive target. Bangladesh’s Farjana Easmin shone with the ball and took 31/4.

India’s bowling dominance

India’s bowlers overpowered Bangladesh. They restrict Bangladesh to just 76 runs in 18.3 overs. Ayushi shukla took 3 wickets while Sonam Yadav and Parunika Sisodia chipped in with two wickets each. Despite resistance from Juairiya Ferdous and Fahmodia Choya, Bangladesh’s efforts fell short.
