In Montenegro, a gunman shot himself and killed 12 people, including 2 children.
Podgorica, Montenegro — A gunman opened fire at a restaurant in southern Montenegro, killing a total of 12 people, including two children, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Prosecutor Andrijana Nastic told reporters in Cetinje that the number of people killed in Wednesday’s attack reached at least 10: “Twelve people died, two of them children.”
The gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said early Thursday.
According to police, the killing began at 17:30 local time (1630 GMT) on Wednesday in the village of Bajice, near the southern city of Cetinje.

The prosecutor said that the victims were killed in five different places, the first four of which were in a restaurant.
“Each place was inspected and evidence was taken. The prosecutor and the police are continuing their actions to determine the circumstances under which the incident took place.”
Four people were seriously injured and taken to the hospital in the capital Podgorica.
Health Minister Vojislav Simun said on Thursday that the lives of three of them are still in danger.
The police ruled out “conflict between organized criminal groups”.
They said that the firearm used was illegal.
The government has declared three days of national mourning from Thursday.
Mass shootings are rare in the small Balkan country.
