After winning, Harry Grant asked the authorities to launch a criminal investigation into Rupert Murdoch’s news papers.

The Duke of Sussex has previously accused the publisher of illegally gathering information between 1996 and 2011, claiming that journalists from the Sun and the now-defunct News of the World tipped him off during that period.

On January 22, Harry reached a settlement with NGN that involved an undisclosed, eight-figure financial settlement and a “full and unequivocal apology” from the publisher.

However, the settlement did not include an apology from the executives involved at the time.

Grant, who also reached a settlement with NGN over a privacy claim last year, insists more action is needed.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Grant argued that the civil action was “not the right tool” to reveal the full truth about the events at the News Group newspapers.

He explained: “That’s what they’ve done consistently over the last 10 years. They’ve spent £1billion to make sure these things never go to court … and you don’t get a proper judicial outcome.”

Grant added: “I think what they’re horrified about is that these findings are triggering a new criminal investigation.”

The “heretical” actor also noted that “many soldiers for these newspapers have now come to our side (…) to say that this is terrible. We were punished, we were in prison, we” Vedas paid fines, we lost our jobs .

According to PeopleSources say Harry’s settlement is more than $12 million, compensating him for allegations of illegal information gathering by journalists and private investigators.

Speaking outside London’s High Court on Harry’s behalf, barrister David Sherborne called for a police investigation into the paper.

Sherborne discussed the significant personal matter he had dealt with Harry and his family.

“In a monumental victory, News UK has today admitted that The Sun, the flagship title for Rupert Murdoch’s UK media empire, has indeed engaged in illegal practices,” Sherborne said. “It represents vindication for the hundreds of other applicants who were strong-armed into the settlement without being able to get to the truth of what was done to them.”

Sherborne also condemned News Group newspapers for years of resistance, paying more than a billion pounds and legal fees to suppress the full extent of the breach.

He praised the accountability that has now been put in place, noting: “UK News is finally recognizing his illegal actions and brazen disregard for the law.”

“It also specifically admitted wrongdoing against Tom Watson and admitted wrongdoing by The Sun, as well as News of the World, against Prince Harry,” he added.
