HP unveils range of AI desktops and laptops at AMD/Intel events at CES

HP announced a number of new AI and gaming PCs at the Advanced Micro Devices and Intel press events in CES 2025 today.

It’s another sign that artificial intelligence is making its way into computing, and the AI ​​computer is one of the strongest product lines at the big tech show in Las Vegas this week. It’s HP again playing the field with a wide variety of machines in many categories.

A laptop with AI

HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch next-generation AI PC notebook.

On the AI ​​PC side, HP introduced the HP EliteBook Ultra G1i next-generation AI PC laptop.

The machine has a slim profile and a next-generation AI processor capable of 48 TOPS (AI Performance Indicator). HP said it sets the standard for clarity during video calls with Poly Cam Pro’s AI features and a new 9MP camera. You’ll be able to easily make your voice heard through dual studio-quality microphones and four speakers.

It also has a tactile click pad that provides personalized tactile feedback. You can use different levels of pressure to control features and gestures to automate actions on a 100% clickable surface.

The device features the latest generation of Intel Core Ultra processors designed specifically for AI software. It has three compute engines to manage the AI ​​workload, improve video conferencing and enable advanced content creation. It uses Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processors with NPU.

The laptop starts at 2.63 pounds and has a 14-inch 2888 x 1800 UWVA non-touch screen. It uses integrated Intel graphics and has up to 16GB or 32GB of LPDDRX main memory. It has storage options of up to 1TB or 2TB and runs on 65 watts of power.

HP also has a series of other AI laptops aimed at business customers. These include the 14-inch HP EliteBook Ultra G1i next-generation AI PC, X Flip G1i and X G1i.

Mini workstation with artificial intelligence

HP Z2 Mini G1a Workstation Desktop

Among the announcements is the HP Z2 Mini G1a Workstation Desktop PC, which is a mini-sized workstation that HP says will deliver transformative AI performance.

It is an artificial intelligence computer that can be used to simultaneously perform 3D design and rendering of graphics-intensive projects or to work locally on the LLM. It has an AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor that AMD announced at the show. It has up to 16 CPU cores, 128 GB of combined memory and the ability to assign up to 96 GB of RAM to the GPU. It can handle AI-enhanced or graphics-heavy projects locally. About five of these devices can fit in a 4U cabinet.

You can get up to 50 TOPS local at NPU. The Z2 also contains 60% recycled plastic, 20% recycled steel, 100% sustainably sourced outer packaging and is EPEAT Gold Climate+.

HP ZBook Ultra G1a 14-inch Mobile Workstation PC.

Another interesting laptop is the HP ZBook Ultra G1a 14-inch mobile workstation computer.

This one is slim, battery efficient, and has a just-announced AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processor with 16 desktop-class CPU cores, discrete integrated graphics, and 128GB of combined memory. This machine can also assign up to 96GB of RAM to the GPU and reach 50 TOPS with its NPU.

HP 720 Multi-Device Cordless Wireless Keyboard and + Mouse

On the peripheral side, HP introduced the HP 400 Quiet Wireless Mouse, the Poly Voyager Legend Series, and the HP 720 Multi-Device Wireless Keyboard and Mouse +.

On the desktop side, HP introduced the HP OmniDesk desktops (with Intel and AMD processors) and the HP OmniStudio X Next-Gen AI PC. The latter is a 27-inch all-in-one AI desktop with Intel processors.
