How Yellowstone is creating a spin-off series by Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler
Spoilers “Yellowstone” season 5 finale ahead.
John Dutton (Kevin Costner) has finally been laid to rest, and with him the land he spent his life trying to hold on to, and which his son gave away without a second thought. As for his daughter, she had finally not only avenged her dear old father, but also stuck him to the adopted brother she had hated for so long.
But where does that leave Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), the toughest member of the Dutton family, and her beloved and sometimes violent husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser)? With no land to call their own, they had the opportunity to literally ride off into the sunset and leave the world behind. Instead, as reported before the finale, a The separation of Yellowstone with Reilly and Cole Hauser is officially underway and this is due to the joint purchase of a ranch and 27,000 acres of land that they have in the future to “make a living”.
Whether it will live honestly is another matter entirely. Collectively, these two handled some of the dirtiest things to happen at the end of the Dutton era, so the odds of that kind of work after them are high. Still, Rip admits that while they won’t get rich on their purchase, he’ll do his best to make do with what they get, leaving Beth to “worry about the rich part.” Plus, if they need an extra pair of hands, they know exactly who to call.
Casey confirms that she will call Beth and Rip’s ranch
While Bette, Rip and their son Carter (Finn Little) playing the happy family can be a daunting task, building their ranch will be the easiest part, especially with an extended family on the way. When that time comes, John Dutton’s last son, Casey (Luke Grimes), will drop his hat to make sure he’ll be there when he’s needed. When the ranch was destroyed by its new owners, two of the show’s toughest characters, who rarely saw each other, parted ways on a good note. Casey assured Rip that one man and his son herding 300 head of cattle was a lot of work and he should call if he needed him. Of course, this is Yellowstone we’re talking about, and the possibility that more than just help from the ranch seems likely.
It is unknown what this means for Casey’s future compared to his sister and brother-in-law. So far, the only confirmed cast members set to return for the Beth and Rip spin-off are the actors who play them. Dutton’s tortured son can finally find peace, and as a result, Luke Grimes can only return occasionally from now on. Again, between what sounds like a sixth season of Yellowstone in all but name, and A spin-off of the TV series “6666”.we’re sure to see Casey and some other familiar faces return to the Yellowstone universe, in whatever way we’ve returned to it before.
