Traveling On the day the land exploded It continues to reach the big screen is the least. These scandalous tunes were able to avoid the block to cut one David Zaslav Thanks to Ketchup Entertainment who acquired the movie from Looney tunes cartoons“The current frame of the artists, led by director Pete Brungard. And on March 15, the animation fans will be able to enjoy the 2D adventure on the big screen.

IO9 sat down with voice actors behind some of our favorite cartoons, Eric Bauza (Duffy and Porki in the movie) and Kandi Milo (Petunia Pig in the movie) to discuss the game in a longer history of the first animation function of Looney Tunes and for the future of animation against AI and the harm of the characters that no machine can repeat.

Sabina Graves, IO9: You both have worked together over the years, more often like some of the others Looney TunesBut here as a trio of Duffy, pork and petunia, which must lead this movie as an invasion of aliens. How would you say there is chemistry because longtime associates helped enter these different characters?

Kando dear: I am always so excited when someone realizes that there is chemistry between the characters and it is not easy to play against someone who plays two characters with two completely different dynamics. But it’s really easy when it’s Eric. This is because I really respect the level of his talent and his dedication to these characters. But we have great chemistry because we are both a little lunatic. We have the kind of vibration as if we were not entering as: “I am sorry that I have just left the monasticism yesterday. Please do not use this language around me. “We are both like” whatever, let’s bring the funny. “

Eric Bauz: Well, thank you Candy – without her and her work and what she did before me, there would be no track for me. So it only makes sense to work with someone like her. And yes, I think the key is to have fun and not take it so seriously, you know, and especially when you are behind these characters, driving Daffy-Mobile and Porky-Mobile.

Milo: Could you die from the way Duffy returned? For me, his opinion, which (is) less mean, is the idiot I grew up to. Raising this (back) with (director) Pete Browngard and the whole team, deciding that this is the outrage he wants him to play, just made my life. This is Dafito, which I remember I saw. Do you know when they give him a hammer. Shut up! I was like “Shut up!”

Bauza: (Duffy’s playful voice) “When you think about Aloof, think about Eric Bauz! Someone who doesn’t know what he’s doing. “But yes, you know again, you know. You don’t want to see Parks being punished, but in the way you eat popcorn while watching this poor pig is served by Daffy at every turn in this movie. But then everything goes together. And I think it’s a beautiful story.

Milo: Friendship always wins.

IO9: So would you say that Pete really allowed you to get rid of the creation of these characters? But also, did you look back at the introduction of the characters – I mean specifically (Candi) for petunia – when you came to life here?

Milo: When I received the audition, I looked back, Sabina. I looked back at the worst where it was – and it took me all day today to find out that it was – many Judy Holiday. (Imitates the voice) “It was something like she talks like that”, so I made two claims; The second was just me. The reviews came back from (president of Warner Bros.’s animation.) Sam registers that they did not want to make a stupid girl and did not want to make a girlfriend. They wanted this character to be a scientist, so he continued to say, “Tell her to reduce her register,” and they played my second take and he went, “Let’s go with that.” But Pete writes about my sense of humor, anyway, this (whole) team – they write the way I think is funny and I’m almost sure it’s the same for Eric there. You guys have a transcript.

Bauza: Oh yes, Pete and I worked for several years Looney tunes cartoons, And then, of course, Uncle For Cartoon Network. So it was a kind of match made in (animated) sky, because it was really just like those directors in the 40s. He really has that sensitivity of such as Mad or Cracked Magazine a little – not “Disney”, not the “perfect picture”. It’s a little exclusionAnd I think that’s why we were on it because we’re a littleS We get a sense of humor is what I say.

Milo: This is where I think both Eric and I, in our acting, are going against the traditional voice acting and traditional roles. Sometimes gender is pressed on women. (Petunia is) a scientist who makes fun of her brain, and she (rebels) against this, but always on the side of friendship. I really believe that if Petunia thought she came between friends, she would get out of the photo and she joins her friends at the end. So I just think that (the team), Pete, Alex (Kirvan), Johnny (Ryan), (e) so great (at the same time).

IO9: I definitely agree. Returning it to what you said, Eric, about how you are very influenced by the different Looney Tunes Cartoon production units of the past, with Bob Claquet and Chuck Jones and the voice actors who have since participated in this incredible heritage of franchise and have really made it recognizable in style and voice. What is so important to preserving this human element of this “a little crazy” – that the artistic expression that is true to Looney Tunes cartoons and not to let AI handle it?

Bauza: Well, you know that there is some manic (performance). I think AI is good so that technology will always be there, it will always progress. And let’s hope that it lands in the hands of good people, not bad people, because it can be used at least in the production sense in what we do as a guide. But when it comes to the final performance of something that needs to be ruled out, you (must) return people to your desks and make them do what they do, what they are is assumed To do and this is the creation of art only from a place that one can. After all, you know, AI just collects information from what we’ve already done, right? (Duffy Voice in standard flexion) “But then it comes to a time when you know it may sound like that is good.” (Duffy Voice in a more hayotic flexion) “But when you have to do this, then you can say.” Then the wheels fall from AI when they have to emotion.

Milo: There was an ad. I forget what it was – maybe it was during the Olympics – where you had a couple who was going on the ribbon and they were not real, the child was not real, the cherry flowers were not real. I had participated in this group of viewing this, and they released three ads and (asked): “Which one is AI?” And I called it and said, “All three of them are AI, because this is the most cold. It’s not how people move. Things don’t move. “(I think), I don’t want you to get better. I want you to go and just help us medically. It really would like it. It’s just help (of) medical (problems) – appear how we can feed people. What can we do to stop the spread of disease Art.

IO9: Looney tunes, especially in the media and in generations, are so harmless in the media. I call them the masters of Memry, because the younger generations will immediately recognize the tunes in the memes. And even in a meme, there is still a creative mind that came out with the little anecdote who talks about the Choatic ID in us that characters like Bugs, Daffy and the others go in. How do you think the modern audience will find its way to On the day the land exploded Thank you?

Bauza: Yes. Well, I mean, with On the day the land exploded Again, there are just countless visual blunders and so well painted scenes with characters that you know they look great on a poster. They are very well designed, but there are some things here that I have never seen in other cartoons.

IO9: farmer John things! I was dying.

Milo: Oh yes! When we did the nomination screenings, people died when only the mouth was just (still) and then sailed, but never moved. For me, it’s just a genius, who thought about it? Hey, here’s a great idea that this is this character, he is the antithesis of (Duffy and Pork), they never stop the lunatics. And then this man here –

Bauza: Whoever happens to be lucky to adopt them or have them on his threshold.

Milo: And so I hope (s) I know that Eric is – everyone in ketchup (fun) prays to do well. (This) People get on for more than this quality, this 2D hand -drawn and maybe we can get out of CGI (animation) Oval flat oval so. It’s a whole genre, it’s a whole thing and I dig it and I understand it. But I would like to see a lot more than that. He is not distorted for an age group, but for a sense of humor.

IO9: That’s right. These are different genres in the middle and they must all be able to exist!
