Heidi Montag shares tearful video after Los Angeles fire destroys her home

Come on Monday is doing her best to “focus on gratitude” after a fire destroyed her family’s Los Angeles home.

Montague and husband Spencer Pratt lost their property when flames spread throughout Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, January 7th. The couple and their sons, Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 13 months, evacuated safely earlier in the day.

“The craziest thing about going to a fire is that your brain just goes crazy,” Montag, 38, shared via Instagram stories on Wednesday, January 8. “You say, ‘What do I need? What don’t I need?” It’s so hard to put together a house. I only have two pairs of jeans and two shirts. I have a lot more clothes for children.’

Still, she asked herself, “Why didn’t I grab more?”

As her eyes filled with tears, Montag said, “The important thing is that we’re safe. He left.” But at that point, “you’re really just panicking, and then part of you (thinks), ‘I’ll be back.’ You know, “Sure, I’ll be back for all (our stuff).” So I am praying for everyone going through this and all my friends and loved ones. Thank God, we have health and children – and I know it. Just trying to focus on gratitude. It happens somehow in waves.”

Pratt, 41, was born earlier Wednesday poignant message on the Instagram network.

“One positive sign I saw our house burned down our son’s heart-shaped bed was burned,” he wrote, posting Ring camera footage of the kids’ room.

He continued: “A sign of how much love was in this house, grateful for all the years and memories we had with our family.”

Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Prattwas the first to confirm the news.

“I don’t know if it’s a good thing that I’m in London or if I need to go back to LA, I can’t think. What should I do? I am sincerely looking for advice. I froze in shock,” wrote 38-year-old Stephanie via Instagram late on Tuesday. “How horrible for my sweet nephews to watch their home disappear like that. They must be so scared and confused.”

In her Instagram story, Stephanie said she was “heartbroken” for her brother and their family.

“Just spoke to my dad – he was trying to save my brother’s house, but the wind was so strong. He couldn’t do anything,” Stephanie added. “Even the Palisades fire station burned down. Pacific Palisade is fully ablaze. There is no one.”

Stephanie went on to note that the siblings’ parents also “evacuated safely” before watching their own home burn on security camera footage.

“My parents house is gone,” Spencer wrote via Instagram Stories on Wednesday, sharing a photo of the rubble and adding seven crying emojis.
