Gypsy Rose Blanchard was targeted by a hacker with a ransom demand

Gypsy Rose Blanchard revealed that one of her social media accounts was recently hacked, and she claims the hacker is demanding money in exchange for regaining control of her profile.

Since she was paroled in December 2023, Gypsy has become an internet sensation and the subject of a media frenzy, with many supporting the 33-year-old as she is believed to be a victim of Munchausen syndrome powers of attorney.

Fame often comes with its fair share of challenges, including becoming a target for tech-savvy people who know how to exploit social media vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, the latest victim of such a cyberattack was Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

According to the ex-convict, her TikTok account, which boasts nearly 10 million followers, was hacked around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. The hacker reportedly changed her bio to read: “Anyone who violates rights becomes a hacker. rustywrist”.

Gypsy claims to have been in direct contact with the alleged hacker, who is demanding $400 to restore her access. She also shared screenshots of their conversation, where she made it clear that she had no intention of paying the ransom.

Gypsy has repeatedly deleted and re-established her social media accounts, even choosing to make them private for added security. However, it appears that even these precautions weren’t enough to deter determined tech-savvy individuals from hacking into her accounts.

During the exchange, the hacker bombarded her with several messages before she finally responded. When she declined the ransom demand, the hacker replied: “Don’t you have $400?” She responded by explaining that all her finances are carefully allocated to her accounts and preparations for them her soon-to-be-born child. She emphasized that, despite public opinion, she is not a millionaire.

Gypsy is currently expecting her first child with her current boyfriend, Ken Urker. “We have a long history. So we first met in 2017 for two years… We have two years of history behind us,” Gypsy explained of her relationship with Ken on Radio Andy’s Andy Cohen Live.

“We broke up for four and a half years and then I got married and moved on… I married Ryan. And then I got out (of prison) and I just realized that this is not the marriage I want,” she added. “And that’s why I filed for divorce and then got back together with Ken. And a month later we got pregnant. It was kind of a journey.”

At 11 weeks pregnant, Gypsy happily announced that she was expecting her first child with Urker. Although the pregnancy was not planned, Gypsy described it as an exciting and meaningful chapter in her life.

“You know it’s a long journey ahead, but I’m all for it. I feel a change in me. When I found out I was pregnant, everything else didn’t matter; the drama on social media, the feud between the creator and me, and all that drama, it all just disappeared,” she said at the time. “It didn’t matter anymore. All that matters is that I’m healthy, the baby is healthy and the relationship with Ken is healthy.”

Just a few days after announcing her pregnancy, Gypsy sat down with PEOPLE magazine to share his thoughts on his childhood and the deep meaning of starting his own family. Reflecting on her past, Gypsy revealed that her mother once told her that she would “never get married, have a family, have children, or do anything like that.”

“So to be here, standing on my own two feet and expecting my first child is something that I’ve achieved as an achievement and a personal goal,” Gypsy said. “I thank God every day that now I have a second chance at life with my own child.”

The ex-convict added: “I will definitely not be what my mother raised me to be. We always say that for the next generation, we want to be better than what we were raised to be, and so for me, I think that couldn’t be more true.”

Gypsy was previously married to Ryan Anderson, whom she married while serving time in prison. However, she is from that time resumed relations with Urker, her ex-fiancé while incarcerated for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
