Earlier this month, Gypsy and her boyfriend Ken Urkerwelcomed their first child together: a daughter named Aurora Raina Urker. Ken shared the happy news on Instagram on Wednesday, January 1, with a candid photo of Gypsy rocking their newborn in a hospital bed. “Let’s meet 2025 with the biggest gift,” he said signed the post.

Despite the hype around Aurora ParishGypsy took to her Instagram Stories to make one thing clear: fans shouldn’t expect more photos of her daughter.

“To everyone asking, ‘No, I won’t be posting pictures of Aurora,'” the 33-year-old wrote in her post. “I understand everyone’s concern and we appreciate the support, but we value our daughter’s privacy and safety.”

She ended her statement with a thank you: “We continue to show love to our fans and thank you for following our journey (red heart emoji).”

Why did they choose the name Aurora?

In an interview with People magazineshortly before Aurora’s birth, Gypsy revealed the sentimental story behind her daughter’s name. “Ken came up with it,” she shared. “It has a whole backstory.”

While many speculated that the name was inspired by Disney’s Sleeping Beauty or even Ken’s stepmother’s dog, Gypsy clarified that the true inspiration came from the couple’s shared fascination with the Northern Lights.

“Whenever Ken and I were together seven years ago, we were both fascinated by the Northern Lights, and the correct term is Aurora Borealis,” she explained. “I think it was maybe 2018, we wrote each other’s baby’s name on pieces of paper and Aurora is something we both chose without even knowing we were choosing it.”

Becoming a mother brought Gypsy both excitement and scrutiny, given her turbulent past. In an interview with ABC News announcing her pregnancy, she appealed to public skepticism.

“I understand that because of my past, many people will ask questions like, should I be a mother or should I have children in my care,” she said frankly. “I know I’m not perfect. I know I’ve made mistakes in the past.”

Gypsy added that while she may still make minor mistakes as a parent, she is committed to growing and learning from her past experiences. “At the same time, I really distinguish between good and bad, and learning from past mistakes is growth that comes with time.”

In another interview with PeopleThe 33-year-old guy said: “I will definitely not be what my mother raised me to be. We always say that for the next generation we want to be better than what we were raised to be, and so I think that couldn’t be more true.”

After her release in December 2023, Gypsy Rose Blanchard and Ryan Anderson faced significant marital difficulties. In March 2024, Gypsy announced their separation, explaining her desire to get to know herself and sharing that she had moved back in with her parents. Next month, in April 2024. she officially filed for divorce.

The ex-convict and Ken announced in July that they were expecting their first child together after rekindling their romance. On November 5, Gypsy released the results of a prenatal paternity test, publicly confirming that Ken, not Anderson, is the father of her child.

As Gypsy Rose Blanchard enters this new chapter, one thing is clear: her daughter’s privacy and safety remain her top priority.
