Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals her favorite books
The book chronicles her growing up as a Munchausen by proxy victim, the time she spent in prison for her role in her mother’s murder, Dee Dee Blanchardand her way to start a new chapter in life.
While promoting her new memoir, Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared some of her favorite escape books.

What does Gypsy Rose Blanchard like to read?

Some of Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s favorite books that offer an “escape” from reality include fantasy such as the Harry Potter series.
“The ‘Harry Potter’ series was the first chapter book I remember reading at age 10,” she said Page six her love for the fantasy genre. “Fantasy worlds gave me an escape by providing a new world I could pretend to live in, and it gave me hope that I could somehow escape my reality.”
She added: “That’s the magic of books. They can transport you to another location. And of course, no matter what I read, I always love a happy ending!”

Although she loves the entire series, she has one favorite. “I love the whole Harry Potter series and its world-building,” she said. “And I especially love ‘Order of the Phoenix’ because Harry and his friends fight back and stand up to corrupt leaders, and I think the message of standing up to evil together is very powerful.”

Gypsy Rose is ready to go to a galaxy far, far away

She also called “Star Wars: Legacy of the Force” by Troy Denning, Karen Travis and Aaron Alston.
“I loved this series because it makes you feel like you’re right there with the famous Star Wars characters on their adventures,” Gypsy said. “All of the battles and character choices kept me so engaged and I enjoyed reading a new take on such a well-known series.”

What other books are Gypsy Rose’s titles?

Gypsy later added that Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games is an “exciting” yet “heartbreaking” series.
“I admire Katniss’s strength and courage so much,” Gypsy said of the title character. “You can’t stop rooting for her, even when things seem so dangerous and sad.”
Next up is “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” by Suzanne Collins. “Besides the original trilogy, I love the latest one, which is about President Snow and Lucy Grey,” she said. Page six. “Learning how the games came to be as we know them brought so much depth to the world of Panem, which I really enjoyed.”

The mother-to-be enjoyed books on preparing a child

“I loved it because it’s like having a friend who’s always there to tell you what’s going on with your child,” she told the outlet. “And what is happening to you! It’s sweet and has helped me feel as prepared for every little thing as I can be as a first-time mom.”
She also read Heidi Murkoff’s What to Expect in First Year, which she said “was very helpful.”
“Reading something that explains everything about taking care of a baby, like the little secrets that only the experts know,” she said of the book’s impact on her. “It’s made things a lot less scary and a little easier, and I’m so excited to experience the newborn and baby stages!”

In My Time to Stand, co-authored with Melissa Moore, Gypsy Rose Blanchard describes how her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who medical experts believe had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, isolated her from family members, to cover up the fabricated health conditions and unnecessary treatment she forced upon her.
Dee Dee manipulated medical professionals, family, and the public into believing that Gypsy had multiple serious health problems, including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, and other chronic illnesses. She also allegedly claimed that Gypsy had developmental delays that guaranteed her complete dependence on her mother.

Gypsy details the devastating consequences of her mother’s actions, including having her teeth and salivary glands removed, being confined to a wheelchair, and having a feeding tube inserted, all based on fabricated diagnoses.
