Grant DuBose of the Miami Dolphins was taken to the hospital after suffering a serious head injury

Stacey Revere/Getty ImagesMiami Dolphins wide receiver Grant DuBose was carted off the field and taken to the hospital after suffering a gruesome injury during the team’s game against the Houston Texans on Sunday, December 15.
DuBose, 23, remained motionless after being hit in the head by the Texan Cullen Bullock during the third quarter of Sunday’s game. DuBose’s shirt was cut off and his mask was unscrewed by medical personnel before he was placed on a stretcher and rushed to a waiting ambulance.
According to to dolphinsDuBose was in stable condition when leaving the stadium and will undergo further evaluation at the hospital.
According to the CBS broadcast, DuBose was being taken to Hermann Memorial Health System in Houston, about 20 miles from NRG Stadium.
While DuBose was on the field, the entire Dolphins roster dropped to one knee in a prayer circle.

“Prayers for the Miami Dolphins W.” R. Grant Daboz,” former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III posted via X. “Horrible scene with him in the field.”
Fox 26 reporter from Houston Will Kunkel wrote via X: “Horrifying moment when Grant DuBose is carried off the field on a stretcher. As he lay on the field, his shirt was cut off and his mask was unscrewed. Pray for Grant and his family.”

DuBose played in just the third game of his NFL career. The wide receiver, who played football at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, made his professional debut on Sept. 8 after being claimed off waivers by the Dolphins in August.
DuBose’s injury came from a pass by the Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagavailoawho himself has a long history of head injuries.
Tagovailoa, 26, suffered the third concussion of his NFL career in September, causing him to miss four games. The quarterback previously suffered two head injuries during the 2022 season.
“I appreciate your concern, I really do,” Tagovailoa told reporters in October on the verge of returning to the field. “I love this game and I love it to death. That’s all.”
Defender Tagovailoa called it a “personal choice” and promised he was “ready to take a chance.”
