Google enters the movie business to produce a leakage propaganda
Big Tech has a big problem with public opinion. Years of political disputes and invasions of confidentiality have left people to feel hostile to the industry, no matter which side of the path they are falling. Maybe a little impetus from Tinseltown would help? This seems to be what Google thinks because it has become The multi -year partnership with Range Media Partners (Longlegs producers and “Completely Unknown”) of a new movie and television production venture called 100 Zeros. The initiative is tasked with finding scripted and unwritten projects for Google to help fund or manufacture.

More importantly, the company also hopes to promote positive opinions of its products, especially among young people, creating its own parts of entertainment and popular culture.
To this end, 100 zeros quietly contributed to a few marketing dollars for the “Cuckoo” of Neon, a movie about indie -huge featuring hunter Schaefer last year. The 100 Zeros logo was presented on screen during the opening loans of the movie, but Google is not looking for publicity for costs.
In April, Google announced another project with Range: “AI On Film”, program for program Short -Movie Committee that explore the connection between humanity and AI. The companies have committed themselves to spending the next 18 months by developing, funding and producing these shorts, with the ultimate goal being to light two in adaptations with duration of function.
At that time Mira Lane, then Senior Director of Technology and Society on Google, explained the endeavor of VarietySaying, “… While AI moves from the science fiction field and in our daily lives, storytelling films provide the opportunity to explore and show the ways we want to revive this technology.” According to LinkedIn, Lane has since been promoted to Vice President of Technology and Society on Google, and her work is focused on the way the company can “fight a flood of dystopic stories” caused by the development of intelligence.
The talent company and the production company Range Media was founded in 2022 by Peter Micel and Jack Wigham, two veterans by PowerHouse CAA. Range’s customer composition includes director Michael Bay, actor Bradley Cooper and athlete and content creator Ilona Maher.
In particular, CAA filed a lawsuit against Range Media in 2024, accusing the company of stealing confidential information from CAA through its assistants and other employees in which he is in the process of poaching. (S)This is a movie I would watch!) He also claims that California’s media media on California of America’s Guild of America, acting as a talent agency, but calling themselves a management company. In this way, CAA claims that the company can benefit from transactions that are not available to “compliance agencies for the Talent Act”. In January, Range Media won a pause in court disputes.
