Golden Globes 2025: How to watch and who’s nominated
An actor has a higher chance of being nominated at the Globes, where there are 36 places, than at the Oscars, where there are 20.
As a result, the Globes are able to turn to big celebrity names, which ensures their ceremonies are well attended by A-listers, but not all of them will necessarily go on to earn Oscar nominations.
This year includes British acting nominees Daniel Craig (queer) Kate Winslet (Lee), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), Cynthia Erivo (bad) Hugh Grant (Heretic), Tilda Swinton (Next room) and Felicity Jones (The Brutalist).
They are joined by stars including Angelina Jolie (Maria), Nicole Kidman (little girl), Demi Moore (Substance), Glen Powell (Hit Man), Timothée Chalamet (Completely Unknown) and To Zendaya (Employees).
There are two pop stars in the race – with Ariana Grande (Bad) and Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez) are both up for Best Supporting Actress.
Among other well-known candidates Amy Adams (Nightingale), Pamela Anderson (The Last Show Girl), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing) and Denzel Washington (Gladiator II).
