Charlamagne, God says there is nothing incompetent about Wendy Williams
Speaking to his co-hosts Jess Hilarius and DJ Envy Charlamagne on Tuesday morning, he said he and Williams caught up with each other on the phone during the holiday break.
“She was … (she) seemed perfectly fine to me,” he said, adding: “Wendy (sounds) like she could be on the radio tomorrow if she wanted to.”
Charlamagne’s comments dovetail with what most have seen of Williams lately: The former talk show host looked sharp and attended her son’s graduation in December.
According to Charlamagne, Williams was similarly in control of his mental state during their phone conversation.

“She called me and I don’t know what ‘incapacity’ means with dementia or what they said she was dealing with,” he claimed, as reported in VIBE“but no, there’s nothing incapacitated about Wendy Williams.”

She was mental when talking to Charlamagne: ‘She looks like Wendy Williams’
To cement his belief, Charlamagne jokingly recalled how Williams had asked why he didn’t seem to want to hear from his old friend.
“She asked (me), ‘Why are you answering the phone as if we spoke yesterday (or) last week?’ She wanted me to be more excited (that) she called me,” he admitted with a laugh.
When asked what Williams’ energy was like, Charlamagne gave a succinct response: “She’s like Wendy Williams!”
He then pointed out how his phone had accidentally gone into recording mode while he was washing his hands, which Williams instantly noticed – and dismissed just as quickly.
“No, you wouldn’t,” Charlemagne-as-Wendy insisted.
“She is absolutely normal,” he testified.

Wendy Williams Guardian claims in legal papers that talk show host is bad

Charlamagne’s comments contrast what was reportedly revealed in a legal filing by Williams’ guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey in November in her lawsuit against A&E Networks, Lifetime Entertainment and several affiliates behind the four-part documentary “Where’s Wendy Williams?”
In a report from PEOPLEWilliams was “cognitively impaired, permanently disabled and legally incapacitated” as a result of a long battle with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. So Williams was supposedly unable to film, but Lifetime did it anyway.

“(Where’s Wendy Williams?) was filmed without a valid contract and released without the Guardian’s consent,” Morrissey said in the claim, adding that Williams was “clearly unable to consent (to be) filmed, let alone humiliated and exploited”.
A&E countersued Morrissey, saying no one from Williams’ team — including Morrissey herself — asked to stop filming.
Wendy Williams attended her son’s graduation ceremony and looked ‘alert’
Adding to the disbelief of Morrissey’s claims is footage of Williams appearing in full spirits at a recent public event in Florida.
trans ExplosionWilliams was spotted at Florida International University in December for her son Kevin Hunter Jr.’s award ceremony. Sitting in a red scooter, Williams captured her son’s big moment with her father Thomas Williams Sr. and sister Wanda Finney sitting next to her.
That evening, an angry Williams was caught on video demanding to know why her guardians left her unattended in the middle of the street.
“They want to work for me, (then) that’s what they (should) do,” Williams told the operator. “Get the car Mr-d-d-mn!”
A few days before the ceremony, Hunter Williams was seen in a more positive mood as she waited in her car for a seafood order.

Wendy Williams’ son is still fighting to bring his mom home
Commenting on an Instagram post about his graduation ceremony, Hunter, Williams’ only son, told fans of the radio legend about his efforts to keep his mother in Florida, where he now lives.
“While I’m here, a quick update on Mom. She is sober and wants to go home,” Hunter shared. “We’re fighting to make that happen,” he continued, “because isolation kills her faster than anything else.”
Hunter has been by his mother’s side for months, including during a stop at a holistic store in New Jersey last year.
