ABC/Craig SjodinGeneral hospital is issuing a warning to viewers ahead of future episodes as a wildfire spreads through the Los Angeles area.
“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the wildfires currently raging in Los Angeles County,” the show’s official account shared via social networks on Wednesday, January 8. “In light of current events, today’s series General hospital (and the next few) may be too difficult for some to watch.”
On the morning of Tuesday, January 7, the storm sparked bushfires, prompting the evacuation of local areas. There were several A-listers suffered from forest firesand other stars show their support for the Los Angeles community.
“Please keep this in mind before you tune in,” the general hospital’s message concluded. “Thank you for understanding.”
The caveat applies to the latter General hospital storyline about Michael Corinth (Chad Duell) set on fire with an explosion and scream in pain. Two months before the scene aired, 37-year-old Duel announced his decision to leave General hospital after more than 14 years.
“It wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life,” he wrote on Instagram in November 2024. “I am incredibly grateful to (executive producer) Frank Valentini, the cast, the crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey.”

At the time, Duell wrote that it was “not goodbye, it’s a meeting later.” The following month, he spoke about his decision quit the series.
“It’s a life adjustment,” he said on a December 2024 episode of the Daily Drama podcast. “A lot of things happened in my life. There are a few things behind it, but one thing I said is that my father is dead, and I’m still coming to terms with that.’
Duel shared that he wants to spend more time with his partner Luana Lucci and their 16-month-old son, Dawson.
“I’m preparing myself for the next chapters,” he continued. “Right now I’m just trying to grow in a way that maybe I feel like I’ve suffocated myself in certain aspects and sometimes you have to take radical steps or make yourself uncomfortable, and I haven’t done that in a long time. »
Reflecting on his work with the series, Duell said that he had “taken so much comfort from it for so long that my identity was wrapped up in it”.
“It’s going to be a process, but you have to figure it out and really see who I am and where I am now in my life,” he said. “It will be a short journey. I don’t know what the future holds, but I have to work hard to reach the potential I know I have. Not only career-wise, but in many aspects as well.”
General hospital airs weekdays on ABC and can be streamed on Hulu.
